Once you reach 10000 you learn tactics beyond normal human comprehension, like not hanging a piece until move 7

"There's no better feeling than winning a game of chess ... " Levy really focusing on his core demographic here.

Levy: "There's no better feeling then winning a game of chess" Lucy: Am I a joke to you?
  • This is the perfect lesson for intermediate players. We need general principles and rules-of-thumb. Would love to see a lot more of this as opposed to strictly position by position analysis.

My passion for chess is on and off from periods of time, but nothing makes me wanna play chess more than being inspired by Levy. Truely an inspiring and great teacher who makes chess entertaining on a different level. Keep up the great work!

I wasn’t ready for muscle shirt Levy. Power level too high

I have been stuck at 900-1000 for quite awhile and was about to take up ditch-digging or some other mindless activity. A fellow 900-1000 player told me she just discovered Gotham Chess and I decided to give it a look.  What a gift! I have tried studying with GM books etc but would get bogged down so quickly. Levy's teaching style has really made learning chess accessible. His Win At Chess Series by analyzing the thought process while  playing games against players at ascending levels is BRILLIANT! I immediately subscribed and bought Gotham Chess Intermediate Boot Camp and I'm barely into it and my thought process is vastly improved. I know where I need to focus my efforts and how to improve and I cou;ld not be more excited about chess again!

Hi, Levy! I'm coming up on 40, and I've always struggled with chess—I learned the very basics when I was young, but not how to make sense of any of it. As such the best I've ever been able to manage up until now is winning the first game against a new player, only to start losing by game 2 or 3, never to win against them again. Stumbled across your videos in YT's recommendations about a week or two ago, and it's really inspired me to try and learn to play the game properly, beyond simple mechanics. Thanks for the awesome resources and engaging commentary!

Looks like the carlos magnusen guy hasn't watched this video yet. He is still 2800 elo or something not 10000... Edit:-Reply Section is a mess apparently someone has a problem and it's funny.
  • It’s very difficult to find a master willing to take the time to explain general strategy without getting horribly complicated. Thanks for understanding what the students need and where we are coming from

I think a good tip is to value your pawns, even before the endgame. A lot of people ignore pawns and are mostly just trying to get them out of the way for their minor pieces, but this is a huge mistake. I highly recommend protecting your pawns, especially central.

Loved the video. Not a ranked played, but this one video answered a lot of questions I’ve had now that I’ve started picking up the game again.

I love how general u explain things because it makes it easier to comprehend and use that information in multiple situations and games rather than it seeming to only apply in certain situations
  • @tinabiswas9759
You are a great teacher. My interest in learning chess has gone up exponentially after starting to watch your videos.

Loved this video. The general guidelines are so helpful as they transcend openings and lines. A dozen points to work on. Thank you for this content
