Have had mine 2 years already. I figured 35 hours a year but using it a bit under that. Absolutely love it! It runs my Woodmax W8-H chipper and I use the forks constantly for moving materials. I did put some spacers on the rear wheels and fluid filled the rears for more stability. A really good tractor IMO.

If you're considering a B2601 make sure to get the 3rd function valve set up. It will save a lot of headaches later on if you acquire a grapple.

Just finished my 4th summer using B2601 60"MMM I'm at 217 hrs. I figure I'm burning .61 US gallons per hr. for those that wonder about fuel. Less than 1/2 hrs are mowing. When I went to buy dealer didn't stock 54" deck for it. He said he has never sold a 54" for B2601 I would want the extra width for getting close to tree's etc. ... all that good stuff :)

Very timely video. I am heading to my Kubota dealer on Monday to put an order in for a B2601.

Great overview Jack! I had one for several years - it was awesome - what a workhorse - and so reliable every month of the year. I loved that tractor....but age started setting in and I needed a cab, so I have the LX2610 cab now. One point I offer respectfully - it will NOT start in our cold Canadian winters without a block heater. When it gets below 15/-20 etc it won't start unless you use the block heater first. And great points about it's narrow design, you need to fill the rear tires with RimGuard (good to -35 celsius) and carry ballast low on the back 3 point at all times. Great tractor and great value/features for the money compared to other brands in this class, in my humble opinion. Cheers keep smiling!
  • I want this mainly for mowing 2 acres and wondering how well the mowing deck makes the lawn look. Does it mow evenly and is the mulching kit available for this deck as on the zero turn decks? thank you, great video!
  • Well done video, wish the BX had the rear depth adjustments. I do love my BX.
  • Already got one and it's awesome. I couldn't tend my land with anything less - or anything more.

I have one and I love it but I would say the only down side is that it doesn’t have hydraulic outlets in back for equipment

Are you going to get the B2401 gear tractor? If so how long would it take?
  • My b2601 was great for 5 years and 500 hours. The rear diff lock can be problematic and shear teeth, be easy on it while engaging. It's a spendy repair

Why do the brush guards on yours look nice and vertical when the one on my B2601 I bought new last summer, leans forward for hood clearance?
  • Another nice tractor Jack is it your most popular model at B&T? πŸ™‚πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ»
  • I live in Colorado. We have a lot of rocks. Will this be able to do terracing or is it not really designed for that? Also, wondering how the bucket will perform when digging in this rough terrain? I also have sloped land and you said that it can get a bit topsy turvy. I need something for the above mentioned activities as well as snow removal. A front end loader would be needed as well, all of which this has, but it seems like this is more geared toward flat land.
