It's not what goes in your mouth that matters to the Lord. It's what comes out of our mouths that can seal our damnation!

The hoof/ feet of a pig🐖 is split though. It is not one piece like a horse. It is like a cow. The difference is, the cow chews its cud but a pig does not. 😊 A sheep or goat has split hoof and it chews its cud. A horse does not chew its cud and it has a solid hoof.

I need to add a correction. Now, this is not to discredit the bishop at all. His message is valid, and he's an incredibly insightful man of the Lord, but a pig's hoof is actually split. They do not, however, chew the cud. That is the 2nd criteria in leviticus. The animal must have a cloven hoof and chew the cud. Pigs have a cloven hoof, but they don't chew the cud.

I have received Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I want to walk as Jesus walked 1st John 2v6. I refrain from eating foods like pork and shellfish. Dont pierce or tattoo my body, and regardless what anyone teaches in mainline church today believe the Sabbath is Friday evening to Saturday evening. My desire is to walk humbly and be pleasing to HIM.😊
  • Read 1 Timothy 4 - You may eat any type of food, as long as you say grace, because the food gets sanctified through the word of God and prayer.

“I have not come to abolish, but to fulfill.” Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It means that the Christian who seeks the holiness of the soul and body must not only refrain from God’s prohibitions in the Torah, but also fast even from what is permitted for him in the Torah. What I mean is that instead of eating the meat forbidden by the Torah, such as pork and other things, he must fast even from sheep meat and other things permitted by the Torah. “Slay and eat, Peter” means preaching Christ to all nations, whether Jews or non-Jews.

Jesus said, It’s not what goes into your mouth that’s a sin, It’s what comes out of your mouth.

I believe eating pork is not a salvation issue, but a health issue. God wants his people to live long healthy lives, and pork is one of the most unhealthiest meats you could put in your body. So if you do eat pork eat it rarely. Or better yet avoid it altogether.
  • I think its important to clarify it is safe to eat in a spiritual sense, not in a physical sense. We may now be able to eat pork in a spiritual sense, just not eat hemlock or cyanide in a physical sense.

Jesus and his apostles were practising jews. They did not eat pork.

The Old Testament teaches us that the hooves of a pig are split and its flesh unclean. We are advised not to even touch its carcass. Jesus also confirmed that He came not to abolish but fulfil God's Law. Not a single letter shall be changed until the end.

I'm a Eritrean orthodox Christian and I don't eat pork let alone my parents but before I received the holy spirit I don't pork anymore because I want to make it like my ancestors

Us Habesha (Eritrean & Ethiopian) orthodox Christian we don't eat a pork! We have forbidden as a law of the church from the book of Leviticus 11:20 and the book of Prophet Isaiah.❤ I love this father so much❤😊
  • I am from South Africa and ALL our food has Islam all over it except pork!!! So I eat pork and I enjoy every bite of it!!!!

To be fair, the fact that pigs are so "good" at being unclean eaters (doesn't chew the cud) and wallowing in mud when they have no access to clean water is exactly why it's not good to consume or cultivate them for meat. Furthermore, the biblical context of Peter's dream in Acts 10, where he is instructed to kill and eat wouldn't have the spirit of bringing the gospel to gentiles if the context were different in the Old Testament, also there wouldn't even be anything to be fulfilled or even tables to flip if things were merely personal choice and there were never commands that were disobeyed. Also tbh, pigs does look up to face their caregivers and they react to pain even when they are upside down.
  • It says in the bible, its not what comes into your mouth that makes you unholy, its what gets out of the mouth that makes one person unclean

Leviticus 11:3 "You may eat any animal that has a divided hoof and that chews the cud." The pigs foot is split, but it does not chew the Cud, thus should not be eaten.
