If I remember correctly, Reaper, or any mods/effects that proc off class ability usage don't activate off using Ascension, since it's an air move, rather than your dodge. Should I just use something like Utility Kickstart in its place?

If I went with the exotic class armor, I’d prefer: Spirit of Inmost Light Spirit of Cyrtarachne This way, I use my grenade to get woven mail and it gives my other abilities quicker ability regeneration.

I’ve been using a similar build with bloodline (similar exotic perks on class armor) on the arc super for amp but I’m thinking about switching to ascension and squall for that extra dr. Thanks for the build man!

IMPORTANT: Galanor on the class item works with tether BUT you have to get a few kills within 2-3 seconds of casting tether. As after that tether kills will not get any super energy from that galanor perk.

Been using a similar build for a couple of weeks. I switch up the super based on the content but mostly use the strand super because it's both good damage and ad clear. Also, you have infinte class ability in your strand super and can keep activating ascension as if you had radiant dance machines equipped. I don't know if coolguy mentioned the stat breakdown and i missed it, but you only need 50 mobility for this build. Amplified gives you +50 mobility so you can spec stats elsewhere since you will be amplified a ton. I have seen other build setups like this one and they have missed that bit of info. Currently, the mods that say use class ability dont work with ascension besides utility kickstart. They will still work with your regular dodge if you have ascension aspect equipped though. Hopefully bungie fixes it like they did with ensnaring slam on strand hunter. Also, gun powder gamble counts as a grenade because it does proc demo on my weapons. But the fragment that cures on grenade kills currently doesn't work with gun powder gamble. Another thing for bungie to fix. This has been my favorite and most fun build on hunter. Grapple meleeing into enemies, proccing ascension before hitting the ground, throwing a gun powder gamble while in the air, shooting a rocket next, watching everything explode and die. Strand hunter with threaded specter and the shuriken tangles close 2nd for me.

Have a similar build just no grapple, i use dusk field because my class item rolled with spirit of renewal and spirit of cyrtarachne. Its pretty nuts dr.

Taking that piece of fine print on the exotic helmet and opening up a whole other corridor of loopage possibility reminds me of how you worked Cadmus Ridge Lancecap in your prismatic Titan earlier in the seasopisode. Looks fun !

What about the damage resistance you get from the new chest exotic, Gifted Conviction? would that stack with all the mods here?

plunder would u consider looking back at starfire with helion? becuase double explody fusion nades, and constant grenade energy back with helion ignitions if u use fragment of blistering I think it is, and if you get a kill with ur nade it refunds ur pheonix dive as well

I’ve been playing a similar build but with stomp ee5. They give you 25% dr when you’re in the air and you’re in the air so much with this play style.
