Tsukimichi Season 2 Episode 3 Will P!SS YOU OFF & Here's Why That's a Good Thing...

Everything about Tomoki in this episode will leave you upset but the way they wrote his character does make sense given how his life had been up to that infuriating moment.

Tomoki has the dps mindset most healers dream of: dead people deal no damage so get the heck out of the damage zone!

Basically, Tomoki was on his own little wish-fulfilment isekai adventure that he still thinks of as a game. Now, it's time for a reality check where we shove it in his face that "no, this is reality and you are fighting a war of survival." Even Hibiki might not have been treating this as seriously as everyone else was, but at least she was taking it seriously. This was a different sort of wake-up call for her.
  • I like how they're recapping season 1 with a different perspective from Maakoto. Shame many consider this week and last week a "waste."

It’s a good thing Season Two is a double cour. If we had to spend 5 or 6 episodes of a single cour on these heroes leading up to the battle at the end of season one, I honestly would’ve been very annoyed. Not that I don’t like different perspectives of the same story; I’m just glad we can focus on new content.

Makoto is really unaware of a lot of things that would beneficial for him to know about, as that would make him be more prepared for a future eventuality with the selfish goddess. I'm assuming the heroes will be very important later on especially when they meet with Makoto, but the way they got introduced make it difficult to be invested in them, if anything Naval is more of a hero than either of them. I can respect Hibiki since she wanted to remain and fight, but Tomoki already showed that he is still the same scared and powerless guy only in a different world.

I have a few things to say, I wish tomoki gets beaten up by makoto, and Naval became one of my absolute favorite characters in this anime. She will always be remembered, o7 Naval. I can’t wait to see next week now that we’re back in the present too

I don't think this episode was a waste... I think it was good setup and it served the important purpose of giving us the backstory of what happened with the other two heroes. That said, I am looking forward to the present-day content with Makoto in the coming episodes.

CUT CONTENT alert: If you hate Tomoki.... The anime cut a VERY important yet vague conversation that happens after that Heroes' dinner. Hibiki was letting off steam about Tomoki being a shitehead, and most of her party reprimanded her, saying Tomoki was totally reasonable and polite. Only the little Priestess agreed with Hibiki. It ends with Hibiki wondering why her friends suddenly favor Tomoki so vehemently and think she was wrong to talk about he like that. O_o No clue. How weird.... As a avid, desperately devoted fan of Tsukimichi, besides that cut content, I've been hella satisfied with the anime we're getting. Now, it's been a few years since I read the first few arcs of the story, but I'm seeing most of what I expected, and done well. A double cour is the ONLY way this part would have been reasonable. At least, if the OP is really showing how far we'll get.

We novel reader called him trashmoki

This episode served as a recap of the end of the first season for me. That battle ran alongside what that excuse for a goddess did to Makoto in order to have him killed. I like the parallel storylines because it shows how much of a solid fool the goddess is. I'm interested to see how this changes things when we start the next arc with Makoto and his group.

Self destruction. Spells like that never work guys! Don’t forget that fact!
  • @actionvids35
I can expect that Tomoky will get even more full of him self and when he encounters our boy Makato will try to take thins from him and then Makato will give him a wake up call and beat the crap out of him. Then either he will change or will become even more full of him self and wow revenge.

You know you have no chance when the enemy is teaching you while fighting you. But I respect the female hero for still standing her ground.

I just hope this motivates the manga artist become more active in releasing chapters.

I consider Tomoki as a trash Hero, he bailed out because his Goddess power was seal & in the other hand the other Hero fought bravely even she knows her life was in danger, she's a true Hero. She lost an important teammate, i know it affected her mentally & i feel bad for her. I really dislike the Goddess for choosing a mentally break kid who used to be bullied in high school as Hero who in the future going to cause trouble for an entire Kingdom & who's been manipulate. Spoiler . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Tomoki is going to get a beating from Makoto because he tried to trade all his slaves/ women who are under his control for Tomoe. He told Makoto that he doesn't deserve Tomoe, Makoto got angry because Tomoki addressed all the women as his slave & Makoto rough him up. I forgot what volume of the novel it happened. He almost died by the end of Makoto. In the end, Makoto healed him and left. The Princess pretended to cheer him by toying with him, the Princess turned him into a tyrant & he became the Harem King in the Kingdom. All the women in the Kingdom( noble, married, engaged, etc) fell into his spell except for the Princess. He impregnated most of the women in the Kingdom & he became so obsessed with Tomoe that he even mentioned he would kill Makoto to get his hands on Tomoe. He became so twisted that every women who are under his spell ended up wanting to kill Makoto for his happiness & he even mentioned he would make the Goddess his slave.
  • Tomoki's case remind of that kid of In the Land of Leadale who kept thinking that the world was still a video game 🙄 I can tell he will become a even more shitty human being in the future 😑 Navarre sacrifice herself for allowing Hibiki and cie to run away was heartbreaking 😭 Seeing this 3 heroes plot line is one of the reasons why Tsukimichi is peak isekai 😌
  • @TheErisianMonk
I just realized, Princess Lily should have gotten WAYmore deep internal thoughts that night she slept with Tomoki. The anime does not enlighten anime-onlys about her motives nearly enough. :(
  • @Echuu_X
too bad we didn't get to see Makoto fire off that special arrow making a lake from the 'heroes' perspective freezing everything friend and foe
  • @judgment5265
It made me chuckle when you mentioned Lies of P, because that’s EXACTLY what I thought of when the four-armed demon entered “phase 2,” lol That game really loves its two-phase two life bar boss battles. 😂
