I have to say, I love it when contestants cover the judges songs. It can be bold and brave, but, when they pull it off, it's a magnificent achievement. I especially love it when the contestants make it different, interesting and their own. Those covers of Don't cha and Rule the world were amazing, but, James Arthur is in a different league.

These three judges on American Idol always impressed me as being the most supportingly critical of each and every contestant. They are always there to offer encouragement and advice to the contestants. And they do it with passion and humour. They are the greatest.

When Olivia Soli started singing "Hello" I was stunned, then I got chills then I broke into tears, she took a classic made it her own and touched my soul with it. She is an amazing singer and will be a success at it, Lionel Ritchie speaks the truth about what someone should do with a song, make it their own and she did exactly that. I have seen several performers from these shows do that and they impress the judges by doing it.

Honestly i never thought much of Lionel, but then i learned of all the great songs he's been a part of over the years and to see how he treats the contestants with class and humility is nice to see.

We just watched a fun, lovely jam with Robbie. I loved the acoustic, street style outside a coffee shop version of that song. He's the chillest singer full of happiness. What a great singer.
