“My concern is the American security which is enhanced by a functioning NATO, which may or may not exist after four years of Donald Trump.”

Former US ambassador to the UN John Bolton is “worried” that Trump’s “isolationist” views on NATO and defence will cause both the US and Europe damage.

How did we get to a position where someone who worked for the Republican candidate can unironically talk about his friends putin, Xi and Kim?
  • @jacafren5842
I am sorry to see what is happening to the Republican party. Reagan would not recognize it. I still hope sanity will prevail in November. Perhaps more Americans will remember that having allies makes the US stronger. Either way, I am happy that Denmark 🇩🇰 , the rest of the EU 🇪🇺 and other free nations (e.g. 🇦🇺🇨🇦🇫🇴🇬🇱🇮🇸🇳🇴🇬🇧) are stepping up support for Ukraine 🇺🇦

If that’s the best America can offer, we are doomed! 😢
  • @jasft9746
You spelled death and destruction as damage.

Think of JD Vance as Trump's Dmitry Medevev
  • @ears9506
What do you think of Trump's Vice Presidents' wife being from India ( India belongs to BRIC ). Isn't that an influence of Russia, China, North Korea and Iran on our Democracy? Especially since Trump is biased towards Russia per his own words.
  • Boltons statement that he won’t vote for Biden makes no sense. If he really believes it is essential for national security to defeat Putin why won’t he vote for the candidate that is supporting Ukraine? I get that he doesn’t like his economic or boarder policies but there is a binary choice in November, it will either be a Democrat or Trump that wins & the only option for defeating Putin is the Democrat candidate.

    Bolton rambling on so absurd

As far as I remember, Trump has pointed out that NATO countries must spend more money on their defense and pay the minimum percentage of GDP they have committed to. I guess that's fair enough. 🤔
  • @songsmith31a
In a filmed interview between Trump and Farage, the former stated that he would be a supporter of NATO if the members paid the proper due instead of relying on the USA to fill its coffers. An entirely reasonable and acceptable attitude towards those who want protection but won't pay their way/
  • @LordWalsallian
If countries like Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria and Poland with smaller GDPs can spend 2% on Defence then there is no reason why Germany, Spain, Norway etc can’t either…that’s the point Trump was making. The US is subsidising countries that aren’t pulling their weight in NATO but easily could.
  • When he said trump wants to get close to his friends Putin Xi Jinping and Kim Jong Un. I switch off the video. The man here is a halfwit.
  • Tell me why we should help with money when the EU doesn’t spend the same amount of money as the US.
