This streaming-war will have only one victor: The pirates.
  • @xersys2556
My takeaway: Piracy will soon be at pre-netflix levels soon because networks are greedy.

Watching this a year later just made me think of how myself and people I know went from using Disney+ just for specifically Marvel, Star Wars and Disney/Pixar, but now it seems every month there’s more and more variety and I’ve found myself browsing Disney+ just for random dumb comedies or dramas that I used to rely on Netflix for.
  • @knightsljx
The irony here is that Valve showed everyone years ago in the gaming and entertainment industry how to monetise microtransactions and cosmetics, and how to beat pirates by offering a service better than piracy. Yet EVERYONE chooses to ignore it and continues to f**k it up every time they try
  • The winners: People who watch so much YouTube that they don’t have time for TV anyway.

I have prime video AND I TOTALLY AGREE IT HAS THE WORST LAYOUT EVER

“Whoever wins, we lose” Me, dusting off my pirate hat: “No, I don’t think I will.”
  • @Hanharrftw
I think one thing to note is that Netflix is Amazon's largest customer. All the streaming services use Amazon Web Services for streaming, so regardless what happens, Amazon still wins.

Disney: I am Inevitable. “subscriptions drop by 55% YouTube: And I...Am....YouTube.
  • @rayyan18
Youtube: "Matpat we're going to delete your channel" Matpat: "But what if i make a whole video about how great you are" Youtube: "i-"
  • @ethangayle6469
When netflix first came out it was the end of pirating movies but nowadays pirating is significantly more popular and I can understand why
  • @ThatLady17
I always wanted cable companies/satellite companies to offer channels in smaller bundles (like a family bundle, sports bundle, or news bundle) or a la carte. I don't want to pay $150 for 200 channels. I'd rather pay $22 for the 25 channels I actually watch.
