Jacob Collier is a super human in every way. I just discovered him a week ago, and after going down the most beautifully uplifting rabbit hole of his YouTube videos, I’m absolutely astonished at his brilliance. I have no more words.

"If I'm practicing I'm thinking where I am. If I'm playing I'm thinking where I'm going." Wonderful quote.

Saw him in concert last week in Denver. It's one thing to be able to write music the way he does which puts him in a category of his own, but then his WILLINGNESS, ability, outgoing positive nature, HUMILITY, and enthusiasm to SHARE how he does it with the world here in this video and so many other of his videos is truly a gift for the entire world. Is he one in a billion? Maybe. We're all so blessed to be here together to witness this.

Jacob Collier’s philosophy is so wild that you can apply whatever he says to anything. As a storyteller, for example, I think the idea of discovering your own intention is so precious, i’ve realized that almost all my best storys comes from experimentation, just from a pattern that emerges from the ideas I put on the page, it’s fascinating that one of my biggest inspirations isn’t even a writer but a musician.

8:06 Jacob: “Can you sing a D?” A random person with perfect pitch: “I thought you’d never ask…”

What a rare combination of true talent and an ability of expressing it in words.
  • @MikesBakes
Jacob is one of my favourite humans ever.
  • Humble and super talented.. it's like a favourite painter bringing you along to watch them and they introduce you. Thanks Jacob, and the people in the audience too❤

Thank you very much for spending some of your time with us, Jacob. Your masterclass was lovely and inspiring. You’re a wonderful musician and human being 🩵

Truly the most amazing human, so generous and humble. I don’t know what I’d do without Jacob’s music now!

The "try to make the worst song in the world" advice FOR LIFE is something I really needed to hear today and will cherish for a long time! 1:00:19 - "If you remove the idea you have to be great or you have to be [perfect...] It's just about saying 'I will make something no matter what' and NOT saying 'I will only make this if it's good'" THANK YOU JACOB, I'LL FOREVER BE THANKFUL
  • @msingrey14
Jacob is truly a one of a kind artistic force to be reckoned with. Really amazing musical talent.
  • @quincybeeker
Loved Jacob's answer for the question at 29:30 So good. Not many people (especially artists) ever feel good enough or ready enough to share their art... But there will always be someone who is going to be grateful for what you shared, so you just have to start. And keep improving everytime you share something.

Listening and trying to keep up with the thought process of someone so confident in just being themselves and unabashedly talented makes me feel a bit envious and at the same time just plain thankful to be in the same universe at the same time this person inhabits it. I know he doesn't think he is a genius 🙄 but i don't know a better definition for whatever it is he brings and offers up so literally freely to the rest of us. 😮 i am awestruck and thankful
  • @bjornstegt4697
Really inspiring with a real nice demonstration at the end about the things he mentioned: tention and release, freedom to do whatever comes to your mind, chaos, creativity, no fear for wrong notes and the reason why feeling and good rhythm is far more required than the correct notes! Well done! Looking forward to the show in Düsseldorf, Germany in November! Very first concert for my older son at the age of 14... crazy to start with a JC concert😂 Thank you for sharing and the view behind the scenes! Greetings from Germany
