M2 50 caliber machinegun

Publicado 2008-05-04
I filmed these two Marines at a machinegun shoot in 2004 at Westbranch Gun Club. They were shooting this M2 50 cal alongside my MG-42. Look for the flashes from the incindiery ammo!

Isnt that like, the most powerful portable machinegun of WWII?

I heard long ago that using the M2 on personnel was not in accordance with the Geneva convention. Can't verify that though. It's used primarily on ordinance in any event.

Me too, and with enough ammo to use it every year at the range!!! Ammo goes for $2.50 PER ROUND now! You could go broke in 20 minutes!

Pretty much. Anything much large might be called a machine cannon. The downside is it weighs A LOT!

i didnt lift it,it was mounted on the ground. The only rifle(sniper)with 50 call bullets that can be fired from standing position is M95 barret and a few more snipers.

No, it won't rip your arm off. You probably could not lift it to shoot it anyway. It's quite heavy. I shoot my MG-42 from a standing position and it gives you a firm shove, but if you push back properly, you can control it.

    p.s. i like your videos.

Kurt, I've seen a video of some American Marines or Army soldiers using an M2 on Iraqi insurgents.
