How Expensive is Copenhagen, Denmark (Rent, Utilities, Food...and more)
In this video I am sharing the monthly expenses one has to bear in Copenhagen. Prices shared in Danish kroner (DKK).

Copenhagen is on top 10 list of the most expensive cities in the WORLD. This video will help you understand the major expenses when you live in this beautiful city.

Let's break down the major expenses!

Accommodation -
Rent is the major part of your monthly expense. Factors that determine the cost of rent are location, size of your place, and what type of accommodation are you going for.
www.boligportal.dk/en/ - This website will help you know more about rent!

Utilities -
Utilities refer to heating, water, gas, electricity, internet and a media licence fee and can start from 800DKK.

Groceries -
In my opinion, day-to-day grocery items are not expensive if you go for decent and cost-friendly supermarkets. My go to supermarket is REMA1000. A couple can easily spend around 3000DKK and a little more on montly grocery.

Transportation -
O MY GOD, if you are moving to Copenhagen, biking will save you a lot of money on transportation. This city is made for BIKING and everyone bikes.
The transportation system is divided into ZONES and you need at least two zones ticket to travel from one place to another. A two zone ticket will cost you 24DKK and a monthly pass of two zone will cost 410DKK.
You can find out more about prices at
dinoffentligetransport.dk/en/prices-and-zones/pric…

Other Expenses -
Then other expenses covers everything from phone bill to salon to fitness centre to even eating out.

A rented room with a shared kitchen toilet and shower usually cost USD 100 per square meter. So a 10 square meter room is 1000 USD. Enjoy!

I moved from the USA at 79 to Queretaro, Mexico on 11-2-2021, due to the deadly crimes and the expensive rents, utilities, food etc. I am on a pension, so I could not afford to stay n the USA, where I was born and raised. My pension goes farther here in Mexico. The city is safe, clean and beautiful.
