Something funny to note is that if you ACTUALLY want to get the 3 missing episodes, you'll need to buy Overkill, and Winter break, which ends up giving you the OTHER 51 episodes too, so why wouldn't you just buy the TV ones too? In an attempt to make a collectors item, they ended up just charging up to half a grand for 24 episodes!

This DVD really is a "Complete Disaster"
-
i wish streaming services were even half as awesome as DvDs

The older HTF dvds were amazing. They had so much love and care put into them. It's unfortunate that they didn't or couldn't put as much love and care into Complete Disaster.

what a great way to realize i dodged a bullet when i saw it on amazon one time but reconsidered

9:55 the biggest issue with the episode order is that “See You Later, Elevator” is played after “Suck it up!” in the dvd, which is extremely inaccurate as originally, they’re 16 episodes apart.

Man, webseries stuff getting DVDs is always super cool to me. Another webcartoon that had some really cool releases was Homestar Runner

I’m starting to think he likes Happy tree Friends 🤔
-
the cramped aspect ratio used for the TV series is the exact reason why im making an FLA recreation project discord server for it and also why i made some concepts for it made way before i made the discord server

dvd menus in particular have the capability to be so much fun with interactivity, art design, easter eggs, etc i'd like to think they were rushed into making the bare minimum and didnt have the time or money to put a lot of effort in. that being said, i suppose the release date of this set coincides around the time dvds were dying down with the rise of streaming so the style of a menu was just an afterthought. we used to be a proper country...

1:08 I honestly think it would be a great idea to make a video addressing the reasons why Happy Tree Friends couldn't get a second season on TV. I think we can all agree that the franchise was never the same after that.

Is it weird that I like watching home media histories/discussions of shows I don’t watch?
-
i want a vid about the htf controversies and you are one of the most underrated youtubers of all time
-
Watching this just makes me want to create a custom definitive blu-ray set that contains everything in their original aspect ratios AND have the TV series be one seamless experience (rather than fully retain the credits between each 3 shorts, to save disc space and give more bitrate to the audio and visuals).

I got this set back in 2016 bc I wanted to work with the episodes in HD (mostly the tv ones tbh). But yeah the way they forced the 4:3 episodes to 16:9 was lazy compared what they did to the "classics remastered". I def recommend watching a vid called "how TV screens made watching movies worse" by Noodle, super interesting topic talking about aspect ratios (make sure to watch the 2D version lmao) Also, idk if this was the disc I got, but after I converted all of the episodes into 4 separate mp4 files (for the 4 separate discs), it had some sort of really weird visual artifacting around the eyes, specifically the outline. I dealt with it until 2022 when I finally decided to find better files for the episodes. Plus I can actually look for a specific one now, and not scroll through one of the 4 files i had.

Complete Disaster is certainly the HTF DVD of all time Also 15:08 has Scott the Woz energy, I love it

Makes me glad I bought Complete Disaster when it was still $20. It may not be perfect but it is nice having it up on my DVD shelf with the Overkill set.

I live in Germany and my Ex girlfriend gifted me this DVD when it came out. I didn't know that it was only released in the US. It must have been a real pain in the a** for her to get her hands on this DVD for me I guess haha 😅

South Park did the exact same thing as Happy Tree Friends, taking the old episodes and making them widescreen with a cleaner look.
