My friend Johnny is quite an indecisive chap, and he can not make his mind up about keeping this car. I decided to help but made things worse.

  • I bought my 2002 1.8 Connoisseur in 2015 on 91,000 miles & next month we'll clock 200,000. Copperleaf with Sandstone, l put in an Aubergine interior but not the seats or carpet so basically all the black parts including the dashtop plus heater enclosure panels, rear bolsters & now l have rear headrests in Aubergine cloth which l like a lot. I also added the electric sunblind. An early Longbridge car, I replaced the PPD deletions including the badged front headrests but always had the early carpet so assume they were still using the original factory stock up. I had the suspension refurbished last year, new factory springs, Monroe shocks, new rear bottom arms, strut tops, drop links, rear bearings....etc. No rust as yet & l've never had a squeak or rattle from the interior. Outside l once had worn front drop links which did rattle but they were pretty easy to replace. One of Britain's fine cars, as said Rover's company motto in the first half of the last century.
  • I almost wish I hadn't seen this. I don't really need it, I haven't got space for it, and I certainly can't afford it. But I've always wanted a Cowley car in this colour & spec, and it's perfect. Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn.

Ooo that's lovely โค Nice to see Jonny on here again ๐Ÿ‘
  • I agree that the early 75s, particularly in Connoisseur SE spec, were the principal of 75s. They looked and felt fantastic with so much class and genuine luxury. Those late facelift cars were dreadful, with that cheap and odd looking front ends and all cost cutting on the inside.

The only thing missing from the 75 was a Straw Hat and a Box of Tissues

One of the proper ones built when BMW owned it; sadly the cheapskating started before production recommenced at Longbridge. And they became worse and worse over time. The original design and spec was sabotaged by the BMW board though; they did not want it pinching 3 series sales so RWD never made it past an early few prototypes (if we exclude those Ford Mustang engined cars that appeared whilst the coffin lid was only partially nailed down.

DD here. Now then ... wait a minute, its a car for sale not by Allegroman! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Surely that's not natural! I dio like the way the 75 creeps in behind while you are introducing it. A great ending too!๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I saw the Rover 75 around when they came out and kinda promised myself one eventually.. But a mortgage and kids got in the way.. I bought myself a burgundy 2001 diesel around 5 years ago for ยฃ900.. Drove it daily for 18 months with no problems until something went badly wrong with the front suspension and I sold it for ยฃ200.. I loved the car and it got many comments.. Just something I needed to do!..๐Ÿ˜Š
  • @123jrh1
never had a 75 yet , in my head mercedes loved it so made their own and called it maybach
  • Very nice! Same year, same colour, same sun blind as mine (except mine's a manual box). The original itemised receipt from my car shows that pearlecsent Arden Green was an extra cost option. You definitely should have that as your own car Mustard, you know you want it! ๐Ÿ˜Š
