Democrats AND Republicans Want to KILL Privacy!

Published 2024-04-02
Even after other states have had their laws struck down, Republicans in Florida and Democrats in California STILL want social media sites to take your ID and verify your age and identity, whether the excuse is "muh children" or "muh election interference."

This won't be solved by electing more Democrats and Republicans.

But Shane, the predators are trying to get to kids in their own homes! They’re called the state 😂

This feels like an act of malicious compliance. The moral busy bodies who blamed all aspects of culture for the fact that they're terrible parents are "getting their way" now and everyone is suffering for it.

First I think the problem is both become more authoritarian

I would go a step further on the security issues - having all that identifying info on individuals ensures bad actors will compromise them as it'd be a guaranteed wealth of data ripe for such things as identity theft.

Something happened after this video that demonstrates just how BAD social media companies are at managing user data and getting useful facts out of it. I live in Canada, in an area where most of the population are native French speakers, bit most of them speak English very well as well. YI have my YouTube settings set to English, and I only ever watch English language videos. I do watch many YouTubers who have other languages than English as their native language, but I the channels I watch rarely have non-English videos on them, and when they do I don't bother watching them. YouTube must have all this data. They still frequently show me French-language ads, thus demonstrating that they don't actually care if they completely waste their advertiser's money by showing ads that are entirely ignored, both for good and bad, by their users.
