The Xenoblade Chronicles series consists of some of my favorite games of all time. And, despite being the most controversial title in the series, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has always been the one I loved the most. In today's video, I share why I think that, despite its flaws, Xenoblade 2 is the most meaningful experience in the entire trilogy.

Yeah man Zenoblade 2 was the game that felt the most human and it made me think about stuff for months or years after becouse of its dialogue writing and honestly music.
  • I once saw a comment that said "Xenoblade 2 would be one of the worst games of all time if it weren't actually secretly the best game of all time" and given how ridiculously hard I bounced off it at first before coming back and loving it, I think that's accurate. Fantastic game but you do need to put in a little extra love to get to that point (which for me was the one-two of unlocking chain attacks and Mythra showing up)

The more I play, the more I love this game. The story and gameplay are so deep.

I actually think xenoblade 2 has the most mature story in the series, even more than 3 - it’s just more subtle about some of its darker/more philosophical elements. Things like the suggestion of a blade sex trade being in existence, how it’s likened to slavery, Mythra having PTSD and depression from Torna, and the like. It’s also the story with the most moving parts in the series, the most differing parties with contrasting goals and ideals. And I love it for that. It had my favourite story AND fictional world not just in the series but in fiction - incredible character backstories, incredible world building with THE most unique and well thought out setting I’ve ever experienced, incredible, thought provoking lore… I could go on. The weird, out of place feeling anime moments so slightly mar it near the beginning but man. It’s still a masterpiece of a story and you can’t change my mind on that. Thanks for this great video!
  • On the desert in 3, it actually gave me the biggest "wtf" in the game once I realised exactly what it was. And exactly where Colony 30 was located.
  • 21:13 For having asked the questions about sexualisation to few online friends who were on this gender spectrum first they aren't necessarily agree. They all shared meme ob Instagram related to xenoblade so they were really into it. First the just didn't care because it was something she saw in a lot of jrpg and anime and since male character were always hot and not fat it was stupid to critise one way. The second and third were agree with your take on this cutscene. The design was fanservice intentionality or not (the skin was to show incompleteness because Pyra has clothes were Mythra don't and the opposit unless its some specific part) and despite loving the Mythra character they hated the design and the cutscene in the bed. Yeah I always use mass melee Mythra its a better design for more crit rate.

I loved to hear you gush about XB2. I agree with most of your points. The game is unpolished in some areas but these can be easily fixed in a definitive edition remaster. The core gameplay, story, world and character writing is peak.

I also value the feeling/ experience a game gives me over "objective" value of the package 2 just hits so hard, I dont care about its flaws (tho a remaster can definitely fix them :P)

Honestly, I agree with almost every point here. I absolutely love the xenoblade franchise, but 2 feels like it perfected their ambitions in storytelling, characters, worldbuilding and especially music. 3 was very good but 2 just gave me a grander vibe that felt more immersive. Alrest was real, whereas Aionios wasn't (which I get it the point, and xenoblade 3 is amazing in exploring its themes) but it doesn't mean it's necessarily cooler.

Fully agree, XC2 is the best one. 3 was a big step back

    I thought I was a xenoblade fan. It’s turns out I’m a xenoblade 2 fan.

This is my favorite game of all time. This game so so fantastic bro❤

Xenoblade 2...Gacha done right. It costs me no real money to Gacha roll and makes every game replay unique.
  • XC2. Best characters, best villian, best music. Absolutely killer game you are correct.
  • @Ringostaa_
Played it loved it I don't think it's the best but I def think it's my favorite!
  • XC2 has something special tbh, if poppy dont bring a tear to your eye, i dont know man. Great video. XC3 has less lows but is kinda flat on its highs sadly
  • I like 1 and 3 but I only cry in 2 and if you dont cry at the end you are dead inside.

Heyo, bit of advice from an admitedly very spoiled YouTube viewer: try lowering your highs in an equalizer. I think it'll let your voice come in clearer without being louder (i think it might just be something with the room, tiles are probably reflecing a lot of highs and such) Defs agree Xenoblade 2's vibe and story being just that bit more enjoyable over the other 3 (im counting X here :P), but i think hands down i like its gameplay the best. The enveloping and looping process of stacking 1, 2, 3s together with your teammates made me feel the most "power of friendship" in any of the core battle systems. And all of that building to a crazy chain attack where you break like 6 orbs, every battle just had a great cadence to ir and the different blades and abilities kept it really varried too
