Published 2023-04-22
Finally, we can share with you all our graduating film: Forget Me Not

This was our thesis film made for the Classical Animation Program at LCAD

This film took two and half years to make and mostly just the two of us handling the entire pipeline from start to finish. There are a few people we also want to credit in helping us make this film-- we couldn't have done it without them!

Music Composer: Maria Vertiz

Credits and Typography: Amin Seyedi

Set Designing and 3D Modeling: Austin Tyler

And for those wondering: The credit song is Un Amor Asi by Luis Rios

This means a lot to the kids who feel forgotten or pushed aside by their parents, grandparents or caretakers.

There are 2 meanings to this smooth and beautiful film. 1. They still care 2. They only care when you're gone
  • Now this is a great story for everyone, especially kids and teenagers. Our parents love us it just sometimes seem we aren't loved but really they "Forget us not"❤ beautiful video

This was animated so beautifully! With a very special meaning as well, well done! 💓

There’s several meanings that can be drawn from this (pun intended), but the part that made me cry was how Ophelia was able to recognize the lost child’s pain and, knowing that they are missed, was then able to help the lost child and then herself. Sometimes we don’t recognize the solution to our own problems until we see someone else experience something similar. Absolutely beautiful animation btw!!!
  • I love how the film is based around the flowers forget-me-nots and shows them repeatedly in the film. It’s also based around a garden so makes sense. I absolutely loved this. There’s also not many short films in Spanish with subtitles and as someone trying to learn Spanish at the moment it was really helpful. I love the meaning behind it and how the kid felt like a black cat who was unwanted and was like a bad omen. Beautiful animation. So much thought put into it.
  • all your hard work paid off, it's gorgeous! The fluidity and consistency of animation is jaw dropping

“No, they didn’t forget you. They still want you.” Well that definitely got me crying. Hit too close to home for me

I was unsure that I would enjoy this short film, but I can gladly say that I was BLOWN AWAY by this short film, the use of colors, the amount of detail, the music, how silkly smooth the animation was, EVERYTHING was perfect! Amazing job! I cannot wait to see what you have in store in the future! Best of luck!

Ophelia has indirectly helped finding "the missing boy". It's marvelous to see both return to their family again!!!

A struggling dad trying to manage to young children. A young child who feels ignored and forgotten by her father. Such a positive ending.

Beautiful animation and story! Really shows how dedication to the project pays off. It's captivating. The "I'll help you forget" countered by the "I'll help you remember" really sold it for me. Amazing work!!!
  • This is so beautifully animated, you two did amazingly! This made me tear up, what a beautiful labor of love! 💖💖
  • I was watching dad's face because I knew I already see this style, but at that moment 2:02 I was very happy to see your ocs! And happy to see this beautiful work!

Been a long time since I’ve seen some Latino spice with gorgeous animations like these! This was executed so softly, I can watch over and over again. From a learning animator/artist, your work inspires me, and I am excited to see more of your work in the future!

Me lembrou o meu eu de alguns anos atrás.
