  • A precisely five minute video, like the precision clockwork you work with. <3
  • Just a small wrist watch, but an engineering masterpiece in itself.
  • This is a clear and beautiful explanation. Even though I've seen it all go together, it still seems like magic that it all works so perfectly.

Outstanding! I think I learned more about how a watch works in this five-minute video than probably from an instruction manual. Can't wait for your next restoration!
  • After many hundreds of hours of watching movement restoration videos during lockdown, I now understand how they work! Thank you.
  • The slow-motion of the hairspring looked like it was breathing. And just like us, a watch is like heartbeats. Your videos are interesting, pristine, and relaxing.

As a Mechanical Engineer, I can see beauty and perfection. Highly appreciate the work, sir!
  • I always wondered how mechanical watches worked. I feel like a big mystery has just been revealed to me. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video 😊

This is a very good explainer, because you show not only the assembly but also what effect each component practically has. Imo the best "how a watch works" video out there. A followup with self-winding and chrono modules would ofc be great; though I appreciate that those might be more difficult to demonstrate. Random thought... It would be nice to have a movement like this (whether by ETA or a custom modification) where the back plates were transparent (e.g. milled sapphire); as is they cover up so much of the watch mechanisms...

I love watching shows like this, initially I was put off by no commentary, but sometimes it's just nice to watch a craftsman at working in silence in a world that is all noise all the time, thank you.
  • I love all of your videos, but this one Is the best one so far. Always got lost when I saw you put back together the watch but this changes everything. Great work 🙌🏽
  • @merkhadia6370
As a person who always watching watches content everyday, this is probably the most simple video to understand how mechanical watch works..thanks mate
  • @imranbecks
There's just something so special about horology that some people who aren't into it won't get.
  • No one talked but this is by far the video that made me understand more about the functions of a mechanical watch.
  • @ZiptoZapto
Wow, I have even more love for mechanical watches than I did before. Such precise craftsmanship, such an amazing piece of tech! Lovely video, simple and easy to understand.
  • @johnshaw8237
I’ve always been fascinated by watches. To understand how they work and the skill required to make them work never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for such an informative video.
  • @shandelor
I got my first automatic watch and seeing the attention to detail and craft behind it is so fascinating! Makes me appreciate it much more
  • @JDGillis
What an awesome lesson on the inner workings of a basic watch. It will no doubt still be a few weeks before I am ready to take on a Rolex, but at least I know what a pallet fork does now. Thank you so much.
  • @MM-qv5lf
Who the heck came up with a complex mechanism like that is beyond me, it's insane.
  • @Paka1983
I have watched this video about 10 times and still can't understand this at all. :D
