Tim’s bass sounds particularly thunderous in this recording.

This was Rage in their prime. Love Zack's dreadlocks. He's Bob Marley reincarnated and pissed off.
  • that intro of bulls is so powerful, with the cloth falling, the loud bass, rage jumping around.. perfect

I got to meet Tom, Tim, Brad, and Chris at a wedding when I was 14. I couldn't believe it when the bride walked me over to meet them. As kids, she grew up alongside all of them. I remember not knowing who Chris Cornell was and not realizing RATM had become Audioslave as they hadn't made the announcement yet. After that day, I never stopped practicing my guitar.

Rage is truly a beast live. Zack sings like studio version.

I started playing bass coz of this back in the day. Still got the bass, same strings.

It is so refreshing to see the people in the audience being fully present at the concert... and not just worrying about capturing it on a damn smartphone

28:20 Imagine you look up and suddenly realize Zack is coming flying straight at your little group to join the surfing. Epic.

I don't believe there exists other band who speaks for our rights, the prevailing injustice and inequalities. Best band ever.
  • My best friend’s older brother worked security at a few venues in the late 90s. We were all Rage fans and he would tell us crazy stories about their live shows. He said something I still think about all the time — the band had the power to radicalize a whole middle class generation for ninety minutes, and if he hadn’t been mesmerized himself, the crowd would’ve been terrifying. When I finally saw them in ‘99 it was exactly like he said. The most incredible and compelling human energy I’ve ever experienced.

No phones, No lights from Them. Just pure enjoyment fucking Love it.
  • I admire the hell outta guitarists like Tom Morello, The Edge (U2), Daniel Ash (Bauhaus), Joni Mitchell, Adrian Belew (Talking Heads), Robert Fripp (King Crimson), etc., who go BEYOND mere scales and chords, using their instrument to make SOUNDS that intensify rhythm, atmosphere - you name it!!! That said, Morello is one of the greatest rock guitarists on the planet!!! LL
