Great video, man! You've been firing on all Cyndaquils lately!

Tajiri being a bug catcher is so cute when you know the story behind it Basically Pokémon as a whole was inspired from when he used to catch bugs in his youth

I always assumed Olivine Lighthouse was the "pseudo" Gym for Jasmine, as it featured a few trainers. Since you clear it and then go right to her Gym, makes sense why the actual Gym is so barren.
  • The belly drum sword dance thing caught me absolutely offguard. Never knew this

The sprite used for the overworld Lapras was the same sprite used when Surfing. Both the Lapras and Onix dolls use unique sprites. Snorlax is the only one who uses the same sprite for both the overworld Pokémon and its doll.
  • i feel like i remember Jasmine saying something to us like "steel types are pretty new" which makes her all the more important as the first steel-type gym leader. no one else is in the gym because she's the only one who's studied steel types enough to be able to apply and work as the steel type leader! not to mention its impressive to see how she was able to obtain a steelix

Do you know that if you let shuckle hold a Berry, it will make a Berry juice? Also if you let shellder/cloyster hold Pearl it will be a Big Pearl after a certain amount of time

This amount of secrets is amazing, especially in a game that we probably played 10 times casually not knowing all these mysteries
  • Lapras' overworld sprite is only 1x1, so the large doll has a unique sprite
  • Also, I’m pretty sure Ampharos was supposed to be electric / steel as a reference to steel wool, but they likely removed that secondary typing because it was already used by the Magnemite line. If Ampharos had that typing, it would tie in a lot better to Jasmine’s storyline with an Ampharos lighting the Olivine Lighthouse (basically Jasmine is the person who lights the lighthouse).

I have been playing Gen 2 since release day. Never caught that Whitney's gym was a Clefairy. Wow.

Pokémon Gold was my first ever cartridge when I was a kid. I used to play it A LOT! Gen 2 will always be my favorite one! I love this type of content, so congrats (:

Pokémon Gold was my introduction to the series & will always be my favorite

Fun fact 1: You are likely to encounter Gyarados at the L10 bracket at BattleTower. It knows DragonRage... Fun fact 2: When you beat Claire, she demands the DragonFang from inside the den. Held item trading won't work here and she calls bs on you from where you got it, denying the badge. Reason being that this quest is a simple sequence check where certain game flags have to be triggered before you can move on. One of them is actually entering the den map
  • Did you know about Clair's easter egg dialogue if you trade for a dragon fang instead of acquiring it the normal way? One of the lesser known fun facts about these games.

Gen II games and Pokemon Stadium 2 go together better than true love and marriage. I've never seen two games go so well together that they mutually compliment and benefit each other, which is why I argue that Gen II Pokemon and Pokemon Stadium 2 are the best of all Pokemon because they're practically symbiotic and one, rather than two different games in the franchise.

Crystal really should've had the safari zone, I'm sure they could've fit something small. In general, Crystal didn't feel drastically different from gold & silver compared to other 3rd color games
  • Blue did a living dex before us. Once again, one step ahead us!!!!

Favorite Pokemon Gen right here with HGSS and Platinum being my favorite games (still feel like Pokemon RB has an untouchable atmosphere.) Thanks for these videos!

My cannon is that Blue caught all but 2 of the 151, Mew and Mewtwo. We can assume there are multiple legendary birds as seen in other regions, and Red caught Mew and Mewtwo. Blue even brags about how many Pokemon he caught in Gen 1.
