When you start talking about genres like dream pop and shoegaze, it’s almost impossible not to mention the duo we're gonna talk about today, and that of course is Beach House.

In this video I walk you through the 5 key components to producing a Beach House style song straight from your bedroom or home studio.

Obviously, the end goal isn't to sound exactly like Beach House, but rather, the goal is to learn the infrastructure and discover what the key elements are in a Beach House song, which we can then apply one, or all of them if we so please, to our own productions.

  • Thanks a bunch! I just started watching and your tips are inspiring. They free up creative log jams to this retired 62-year-old who just started recording and publishing shoegaze/dreampop songs under The Cataract Pools band name on YouTube. I love the free Valhalla Supermassive reverb plugin and use it extensively. I love DKFM, Bandcamp, and DistroKid, too. All are wonderful. Thanks
