    I first saw this ad on dialup internet, so it is a interesting realization to see all the minor details that the horrible compression and framerate hid from me

    Wow, I didn't realize they had such an AGGRESSIVE competition with Doom, makes sense of course.

    I'm pretty sure the aggressive campaign against Doom actually hurt the reputation of the game more than helping them. I remember reading stuff against Doom on the Descent FAQ as well.

    I've watched the Descent3 trailer today when I finished installing Freespace2. xD Jesus...Freespace2 (open source) is working on eyefinity systems. Only the HUD is stretched over the 3 monitors, but I guess I can't have everything. The original developers of FS2 know they've done a masterpiece there. Never played Descent, but I think I should.

    Horrible trailer. The original Descent was the most atmospheric - and often downright scary - games of its day. This lame-ass commercial reduces an awesome game to mind-Cheetos.
