I went to my first NA meeting and Mikey was sat across from me, I didn't know him, he is about 15 years younger than me. I thought to myself what could this kid know? I shared and cried and Mikey shared directly after me and I was gobsmacked with what this guy knew about recovery. An absolute gent, have massive respect for people tackling addiction at such a young age, fair play Mikey and Thanks for the power you gave me that night, I'll never forget it. Hope you well 👍

Mikey, you are an absolute inspiration. You have overcome so much in your young life and your story will help young people to see there is life after drink, drugs, gambling etc. Timmy and James, your care and compassion to Mikey was heartwarming. Your messages are so important and definitely needed especially during the disconnection we all feel in Covid 19.
  • Great start to season 2 with a very honest and raw interview. Well done lads 👏👏 and especially to Mikey for being so courageous 💗 Wishing you every success Mikey in your recovery and your new venture 😉

Fantastic fourm. Mikey at such a young age responding like a mature adult. MIKEY you should open your own pod cast for youth on mental health as you said it's not talked about as much as it should be. . Best of luck with the new business adventures. Powerful powerful stuff. Love this pod cast

That along with James and Timmy's stories are up in my top 3, your really blessed to have escaped from your addictions at a young age, it took me alot longer. So much to relate with and even to hear you say something and then think, that's me. The bit about knowing who your friends are or were is so true, but its a hard way to find out. Best of luck young man with your life in the future. Michael
  • An exceptional young man! Articulate, intelligent and so mature beyond his years. I've no doubt he's on the right path and will be a massive success, whatever journey he chooses!

Fantastic guys! Well done Mikey for sharing so honestly. Really helpful and inspiring.
  • Really enjoyed the conversation again and I came away with a nice new mantra for myself "In spite of how I'm feeling, I will show up for life!" I can certainly do with it now. I have been filled with anxiety the last few months over another court case for €10 worth of cannabis, my life was going fine until I had to be dragged back to court, now these dark thoughts surface again. Its straight up discrimination whats happening. Criminalising a person for drug use is an ineffective way of preventing drug use. Prohibition of drugs puts them in the hands of criminals. We need to decriminalise the drug user and put services in place that can more effectively help those addicted to drugs.
