"PHIL... is fUCKing... lying" was just such a wonderful line and I love the delivery of it
  • Imagine being left behind and you literally know what will happen to those who'll be shipped out. Big respect for our boy Phil
  • @belixffvl
Phill is literally born as a detective- 💀
  • @kureomi-ko4497
Phil: see's Emma cry Phil not even 0.02 seconds later: Demons, harvest, death, human trafficking, murder, homicide, slaughter, secret, despair, destruction, blood, escape, bad people
  • Phil is the smartest kid there. That’s why Emma left him there back there, so when they grew up, Phil will be able the one to help them just like Norman. A damn genius. And adorable.

Emma: “tells the truth” Phil: I’m 4 parallel universes ahead of you

"Phil...is f***ing lying." "Phil..drew that goddamn owl" I am uncomfortable with the energy we've created in the studio today

"The trick to being smart, is knowing when to play dumb" exactly defines phil and sherry all along
  • @nomyum7042
Phil's eyes and Sherry's headband literally screams IMPORTANT CHARACTER!!!
  • Also worth noting: It might seem impossible for a 4 year old to be that smart, but it's 100% possible. I work at summer camps during the summers and I've met some incredibly smart kids: 6 year olds that learn twice as fast and have triple the attention spans of kids twice their age, a 9 year old with a perfect photographic memory (like memorize an entire book level of perfect), the smallest/youngest kid who turns out to be the smartest and most independent kid at camp, a 5 year old younger sibling of a camper who could fold extremely complex, triple bird base origami creatures from memory (I swear that kid will be a rocket scientist). I even once knew a 2 year old who could spell literally any work (including complex words and names like "Phoenix") and he was extremely tied in to the emotions of all the adults around him; he knew when to intentionally make people laugh to ease a tense room, he knew who to comfort and when, he knew who to avoid, he even knew who was lying and when. He had some decent critical thinking/logic skills that were waaay beyond his age. That kid also has a giant head, he literally looked like a cartoon image of a brainiac. He's homeschooled because there just wasn't a school with a gifted track on a high enough level for him. Plus, none of this came from his parents forcing him to learn, he just genuinely seeks out knowledge and his parents opted not to get in the way of that, so they just started answering all of his questions and giving him access to books.

i really love how they planned the shots and povs in this anime- i’m a cinema student and we study camera work a lot. while i was watching the anime, all of those POVs gave me anxiety, i noticed how they used these shots to give clues about the characters too, that’s why i love this adaptation!! such a good anime-
  • @grantsrun7464
Phil’s one weakness: the inability to tie his shoes.
  • @bcblur1
in short: this fictional four year old boy is smarter than everyone here
  • Emma, Ray and Norman think their the smartest.. Phil: Hewo Emma!! Them: Sooo cute!!! Phil knowing all the secrets of the house and also knowing how to ease drop without getting caught and acting dumb when he needs to Phil: =In his mind= Idiots Phil: =Smiles= Bye Emma!!
