  • Hey friends! As pointed out in the comments (thanks!), there's an error in this video - if you're pairing with another character with Sentinel, you shouldn't take the Sentinel feat on this character, as that will prevent them from triggering off each other. Since I don't usually play with elixirs, I hadn't tested that version of the build in actual play and missed that very important anti-synergy. Still, that's a lazy error to have made and I'll try to avoid them in future - sorry for the mistake! Instead of Sentinel, for the Elixir version of the build I'd recommend Alert and Savage Attacker, which also means swapping out GWF style for Defense fighting style, since GWF and savage attacker don't stack very well.

Greatly enjoying and benefitting from your BG3 series. Crushing honor mode with unique party compositions, consistently keeping the game fresh and challenging. Larian should be paying you for all you've done for this community. 👌

Nice! I love duo synergy builds. But don't give 2 characters sentinel feat. "When an enemy in melee range attacks an ally, you can use a Reaction to make a weapon attack against that enemy. Target ally must not have the Sentinel feat."
  • At this point I'm not even going along with these build guides. I think I just enjoy the sound of your voice lol
  • And here I thought I was a genius the other day for theory crafting this exact same combo but going Tiger Heart instead of Wolf Heart. My thought process was wanting to roll my first character with polearm master/sentinel. A criticism I'd heard of that playstyle was that weaponizing your reaction as a disabler is neat but not necessarily the most effective. So I figured I might as well go Tiger Heart to bleed and maim, then Battlemaster Fighter for utility options that recharge on short rest. The ultimate disabler. My original plan was to go with an even 6 Barbarian/6 Fighter split. But realized that 8 Barbarian/4 Fighter made a lot more sense due to the exact reasoning you present regarding traversing difficult terrain. As always, fantastic content. Mostly commenting for the algorithm. Very happy to see Baldur's Gate content alive and well when you see knowledgeable, charming content showcasing Baldur's Gates and DnD's impressive build depth. Keep it up.
  • Lose together, win together, slay together, slay together slay together

❤❤❤ I appreciate all your work. I enjoyed the video

Oof! Now I want to try this build with a crit team like a Bardin, Gloomstalker Ass, and Sorlock. Amazing as always!

Yooo I went for Wolf Heart on Karlach in my first ever run where I didn't respec or multiclass anyone. Glad to see it was actually a good choice after all and not just noob fumbling. I read the kit and was like "hm, sounds good!" I chose Aspect of the Elk as the second Bestial Heart and she's just an amazing team member all around.

It's gotten to the point where I'm just excited to see what your next BG3 video is. One note: Sentinel states that you don't get the extra attack if the targeted ally also has sentinel. This would be cool with Shar's Spear in a melee darkness team.
  • @Sublimarcher
I feel like it should be said that Sentinel cannot proc when someone with Sentinel is attacked. It says that in the tooltip. Great content! I've been watching you for a while now. keep it up!
  • @b1ackm4gic
Wolf heart + darkness abuse team comp is how I breeze through when I want a safe fight/team
  • @hillary1239
i would recommend using savage attacker as a feat. Especially with Karlach because i think even her 1d4 fire damage gets the benefit from savage attacker. Same for other dices on attack like weapon dice, or any other benefits
  • Sentinel feat states that the opportunity attack won't trigger if the ally also has sentinel. Is this feature not implemented?
  • Great thematic build for Karlach that also fits her character. Have you tried Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous? That game will test your min-maxing abilities much more than BG3 IMO, BG3 comparatively is much easier.
  • @Deadknight67
27:56 The Feat mentions the ally hit should not have sentinel so you can't have 2 sentinels guarding each others. Let me know if I'm wrong or if this is a bug but this is in the description of the feat.
