In this video I give you my top tips and advice for shooting in very harsh light. This bridal portrait shoot video was recorded around 5 hours before sunset in the middle of summer so the sun was still very high in the sky which makes taking natural light photographs quite difficult.

However, as I show you in the video, by following the tips I give in this video we can utilise the harsh light to produce really nice wedding day portrait photographs.

All the photographs in this video were taken with my Sony A9 and I used the Sony 35mm 1.8, Sony 85mm 1.8, Sigma 135mm 1.8 and Canon 50mm 1.2 lenses.

A huge thank you to Nina for modeling, Nina was absolutely amazing! (You can follow her here: www.instagram.com/ninadiniro/) and also to my friend Toni Darcy for kindly filming this video for me. You can check out Toni's YouTube channel here:    / @tonidarcy

  • I love the fact that at 8:50 you chose to face her to the sun and have a dark background for a more studio lit looking portrait! I always always always do back lit w the sun and add OCF. Thank you!
