One of the most beautiful EWF songs ever.

SEE THE LIGHT
Larry Dunn, Philip Bailey & Louise Hardy

Lookin' through the clouds, what do you see?
Sky of gases, child in need
Troubles everywhere, more than I can bear
So I'm searching from within
Help them see the light

I'm a blossom, in the sun, sunshine of love
Singing loud to the one, I love above.
Shine on sun, let your light, guide my way.
For so long, there's been such darkness,
Got to be a better way
Keep me lord, help me to grow.
So I may, reap the fruits, of a free and happy soul.
Help them see the light.

Give me strength, when temptation calls.
Lift me up when life's battles make me fall.
Shelter me from the evil and the wrong.
So when ya call, dear lord, I said I'll be strong.

Walk with me, when the stormy nights are cold,
In your hand lies all control.

Master, then when my final song is sung,
With your mercy, I pray that you'll say well done.
Help them see the light.

  • Shelter Me From The Evils And Wrong. This Song Is Truly A Song Of Prayer. And Is Quite Revelant Today! "HELP THEM SEE THE LIGHT" TO YOUR WORD LORD JESUS!
  • Taking a break from homework.... I forgot about this song . Phillip Bailey and his voice!!! I have always loved men who had those falsetto voices (Smokey Robinson, Eugene Record, William Thompson of the Stylistics, etc.) Phillip brings this song to life with his lyrical approach to singing this song!!! He is calling all of us to "see the light"!! God had never let anyone down!!! Thank you EWF for being in the era when we knew good music and wanted to shout out at being so lucky to have experienced this with all of its freshness!!!

Philip Bailey's lead vocals on this song are indescribable...such a gifted falsetto!! Larry Dunn's writings and musical direction for this band are legendary, along with Maurice White's and Al McKay's. This band was and is comprised of pure TALENT...men who were gifted beyond their years, and that is a gift that can only come from the Almighty, Himself. Earth, Wind and Fire were all about sending positive messages out into the world. I thank God for them!! Thank you for sharing.

God bless Earth, Wind and Fire, always.....men who dedicated their lives to applying positive messages to music, then spreading it all over the world. Thank you, EWF!!! There will NEVER be another!!! Over FORTY years, and STILL going strong...THAT'S being truly gifted!!
  • Damn, a 25 year old (Phillip, Verdine and Ralph were all 25 at this time) but a 25 year is not supposed to be this gifted! These guys were sent from the LORD! I LOVE this line up! Maurice, Phillip, Verdine, Ralph, Andrew, Larry, Johnny, Fred and Al

It's impossible to be in a bad mood while listening to EWF. Simply the greatest R&B band of all-time, hands down.

No doubt, Larry Dunn is one of the greatest of our time in my opinion

There are very few albums that can be played from beginning to end. "That's the way of the World" is classified as one of those albums.
  • @Louie914
This song continues to bring me to tears...after all these years.
  • So much of EWF"s music is spiritual. I will be listening a lot given the circumstances we have found ourselves in lately.
  • @eyesawit2
Larry Dunn proves himself to be a true master on this song. His Keyboard solos are the best ever!

I was privileged to see this group perform for the first time post the death of Maurice White, the energy of this band is second to none. The band still perform with vigor. Awesome performers and message.
  • my favorite song by my favorite band, so spiritual! My life has definitely turned around since "He" helped me "see the light"!

This morning as I was listening to Steve Harvey's tribute to Earth, Wind and Fire, he said that in four hours he still couldn't play all of their hits! He's so right.  I thank the Lord for Earth, Wind and Fire.  RIP Maurice White

RIP Maurice White. God bless the Earth, Wind and Fire family in their loss.
