Comparing the switch is an interesting situation but i think comparing it to the steam deck would have been a more interesting comparison.
  • @actuallyarnav
love your content, but i really think you should've compared it with something like a steam deck, since thats the market the rog ally is targeting. comparing it wth the switch is kinda like apples to oranges, because nintendo and asus have two different segments they're targeting, nintendo targeting casual gamers and rog targeting those who want to play pc level games on the go. just a thought. love your vids though!

I’m glad for this comparison because i was really unsure of what to get between these two so that’s actually helped! Thank you
  • @yasserbanse
Your videos always gives me this sort of happy feeling that I can't really express ❤
  • The day Rog does not make a good device for gaming . That's the day Rog headquarters will be on fire
  • @KethavDoesStuff
This thing actually looks sick! I think you should have compared it to a Steam Deck, as it is targeted to rival that. Otherwise, great video as always! 😃

At first i thought you cant compare the switch to the ally, because one is a propietary handheld console and the other one a pc handheld allrounder but nonetheless this review was amazing and surprised me very much! I think that out there are enough reviews that compare the steam deck with the ally. Your review was all about the gaming experience on the go as a whole and that was it what made this video so interesting. Good job and keep up the good work! Im loving your channel and the great quality fun videos ❤

I bought an oled recently so thanks for this helpful comparison video this helps me so much
  • @paragjiwtani
I think a steam deck will be a more apt comparison since that is what the Ally is directly competing against

Nevertheless, ROG seems to be doing quite well with their releases, hope they go strong.

This is a rather interesting comparison I figured you'd compare the deck to the ally like every one else but this I'm enjoying so far

Its all a bag of golf clubs.. so many different metrics that mean different things for people using each in different use cases. Both platforms have pluses and minuses so videos like this are so helpful to see someone explore/compare many of these different use cases or why-do-i-care details. Thanks man I am now a subscriber.

9:33 Valve has done a lot of work for this kind of stuff specifically for years now. If you are playing on handheld, on TV or streaming, Big Picture mode should be used which changes everything to be useable with controller and touchscreen with more ease. What's shown on the video is regular Steam desktop overlay for games and that also completely changes when opening games through Big Picture.

I don't think the rog and the switch are competitors in the same consumer category to justify this match-up. Nintendo isn't really targeting the hyper invested gamers like the ROG brand in its entirety does. If anything, the ROG is in direct competition with the steam deck.
  • @rexfordnana
i subscribed for the icing on the cake edit. Great to see you put so much effort into your work!

With the the ROG being bigger yh it would have more comfort but with a switch instead of changing the joycon colour with shell replacement and stuff You can also just get what they will normally call a protective case or shell So u can get ones that make the switch more bulking make it fluffy and all different textures some are expensive but you can also get them for cheap The one i have was £16-19 But you can get for for like 4-8 pounds as well! :)
  • @brandongabel
You should compare the Ally to the Deck. The Switch is hard to compare to a PC handheld considering it's not one, whereas the Deck is on the same level. The only similarities to all of them is that they're gaming devices and they're portable, which is honestly not enough to matter when there are so many other factors that do. Solid video tho

Regarding the Asus Rog Ally, I'm really excited about its potential. However, I think I'm going to hold off on purchasing it for now and wait for further revisions to the hardware and software. As an early adopter, I've learned that companies often make improvements based on user feedback. Take the example of the improved fan in later orders of the Steam Deck. So, I believe it's wise to give Asus some time to refine their product before jumping in. Can't wait to see what they come up with in the future.
