  • “To the teacher who was regularly intoxicated during class this year..”

That probably sobered them up instantly😂

The valedictorian thanked those teachers who actually positively impacted her education or did you not LISTEN to what she said Manuel Rubio. Typical! Those were the only positive things that were going on for her. Well Done Natalie.

Holy crap channel 8. Could you have not had your reporter constantly talk while we're trying to listen to what the girl said????

“To the teacher who was regularly intoxicated during class this year,” she said, this time drawing an audible response from the crowd, “thank you for using yourself as an example to teach students about the dangers of alcoholism. Being escorted by police out of school left a lasting impression.”

Buhr concluded: “I hope that future students and staff learn from these examples.”

Lol, she said "To the Teacher who was regularly intoxicated this year...
  • She’s right. Sometimes the best “role model’s” are the anti-role model’s. You learn how NOT to act.

I salute the young lady for speaking her mind. Her awareness of issues in her high school should be commended, not condemned. In this news piece, the spokesman for the Sweetwater school district just had to put a negative spin on this young woman's right to point out issues HE SHOULD BE DEALING WITH! Not condemning this Valedictorian's honest words. Shame on you Mr. Rubio! Before you comment negatively on this honor students speech, look in the mirror and be ashamed of what you have neglected in your school district!!!

Can y'all just link to the damn speech itself so I can watch it without your interruptions?

You are my hero!!! What you did up there on the podium was incredible and courageous! It's about time someone breaks their silence about the issues that are rampant in the school system. This was EPIC!!! 🤣
  • Oof, that's gotta hurt 😂😂😂 well done to her from the UK 🇬🇧
  • @CarolHardin611
Bull on your comment rep of school district. You people need to fix your problems, not "sweep them under the rug". Bravo to this student with heart and courage. She's obviously looking out for the interests of future students - something that the district isn't doing.

Thanks for having "The Balls", to "Exposing the Truth", about America's "Woeful and Corrupt", school system!!!
  • The counselor who "wasn't available" had a good reason to. Her son died in a car crash for crying out loud! Even school counselors grieve the death of their loved one, imagine all the work she had to put in for herself and other students!
  • Congratulations on your graduation and bravo to you for having the courage to speak the truth I only hope my children are that courageous to speak up when no one else is
  • @margiethomas8
Natalie as a teacher I would like to say thank you for your honesty! There are great and caring teachers that are overshadowed and protected by people who have no business being in education.

Good for the kid... It's so tiring dealing with bureaucratic staff and tenure teachers that cling to their jobs and do everything in their power to neglect students' needs. You can do everything right and follow every step that they give you, and they can just turn around and tell you that YOU still messed up (All while giving you a terrible stink face). Meanwhile, the admin is acting like this takes away from the celebration of graduating? If anything, this speech highlights the challenges of graduating.

To the main office staff: “Thank you for teaching me how to be resourceful. Your negligence to inform me of several scholarships until the day before they were due potentially caused me to miss out on thousands of dollars. When applying for a work permit, you repeatedly turned me away, despite confirming with my employer and my parents that all of my paperwork was filled out correctly. I’ve had to escalate issues with staff to an assistant principal various times to reach any sort of solution."
