This is what I was asking for when I was saying “what are those melodic patterns you’re hitting on the way to targeting the chord tones?”Everyone hears “it’s all about the chord tones” from teachers and then the teachers play a great line but never show the pattern they use on the way to the chord tones! This is the turning point for me, this video right here! Thanks man

I have been subscribed to Rick Beato's channel for a year or so, and along comes your interview. The playing was inspiring, so I immediately checked out your channel, and dude, i am so motivated to apply your guidance. After 50+ years of playing it is awesome to see how to connect melodic playing to the blues realm. Being a hard rock guy coming up in the 70's and 80's, blues lead playing was not a focus, but i have always been amazed at really tasteful blues lead playing. You are graciously opening the door. Thank you.
