  • Here it’s normally sold as a “face cord” 14/16”x4’x8’. Your country cord here is called a “bush cord” 4’x4’x8’ 14/16”.
  • Good Evening Sir, you are very good wood carpenter and very nice OUTSTANDING chainsaw rack in deer👌👍 😇Very well design firewood rack Sir 😇👍👌a full cord is 4'Hx8'Lx4'D and Face Cord 4'Hx8'Lx16-18''D 🧐👌Many fun stories to tell you when my friend where ordering their firewood in the Annapolis Valley( greenwood ). My friend Calling for 12-14 Cord ( was taking it was a face Cord ) and the price was the same as face cord back in the big cites and the selling logger asking are you shure ??? and my friend said yes,,, a week later a couple big 10 wheelers delivering all that firewood during his working hours ( the payment was already made !!! ) I helping him to pill up all the firewood in his 5 acres backyard and never order any firewood for 4 yrs 🤣👌👍You can use Hydraulic Oil ( used ) to waterproof your OUTSTANDING firewood Rack Sir ) Cheers 🍻

Hey just sub-ed after Dave RCAF recommendation. We bring our wood home as big as possible. Less handling if you buck and split at the woodshed no? Love the saw rack! Ive run a ms261 forever. Will be looking for another (none ‘c’) ;) lol
  • How's she goin'? Nice video Russell. I like that you are making plans to handle the wood as little as possible. That's where the time will be caved for sure. The racks you are making look good and strong and will surely last a lot longer than one season eh. Neat idea for the saw holder too. I just bought a MS250. I haven't used it much yet, but it has a busy winter ahead of itself!!! I agree with you about a country cord and a city cord. 4 X 4 X 8 is a cord for me and I think city cords could be as little as 16" X 4 X 8. Often called a face cord. Thanks for posting and take care!!!
  • I like your idea of wood rack what the measurements 👍👍👍👍
  • Back in the day we cut firewood in TWO LENGTHS, 16 inch and 24 inch. 3 stacks(4'Hx8'L each) of 16 inch make ONE CORD, each stack is called a FACE CORD(1/3 cord). 2 stacks(4'Hx8'L each) of 24 inch make ONE CORD, each stack is called a RICK(1/2 cord). Where I live, it's not legal to sell in this manner. It's sold as "per stack" or "per load", with "load" meaning a pickup truck bed filled to the top edge of the bed and thrown in all willy-nilly(not stacked neatly). Been that way since the 80s to prevent false advertisement. You see, technically, a cord of split wood is not a full cord. A cord is based upon a solid cube of 128 cubic feet, basically 4'x4'x8'. If you have a solid block of wood that size, you're golden! However, if you take that same block, cut and split it in smaller dimensions and restack it, it will fill a larger area than 4'x4'x8' due to air gaps between the pieces. Even if you cut the solid block with a saw and stacked it flush piece by piece, it will still be less due to loss of kerf.
  • Everything here is sold by the face cord what you call a country cord is known as a Bush cord here we get 120 a face cord here so a full cord would be 360$
  • As a former firewood producer we ran into this cord issue on a regular basis. The legal defination of a cord is 128 cu ft stacked. Due to the shrinkage issue in producing a cord of stove wood from a cord of 8 ft we sold our product in units of 105 cu ft which is the average shrinkage. 176 cu ft is required when throwing it in say a wagon loose. These face cords, sled cords or whatever are in no way legal measurment and should be a red flag to any firewood buyer
