How Many V8+ Blocs in 90 Mins? A Simple Try-Hard Time Trial Session

Louis and I like to tell each other a lot that we 'work well under pressure' when in reality we've both admitted once or twice that this really means we 'only work under pressure' and today we test that hypothesis. After the V8+ circuit in Bethwall Climbing Centre in East London got updated, Louis, fuelled by double espresso and Tenzing chaotically tries to tick off as many of these (quite hard) blocs in 90 mins. What ensues is a classically chaotic session filled with nuggets of insight into the way Louis approaches hard blocs like these, and Ink, as usual steals the show with his cameo appearances.

00:00 Introduction
00:47 An Unexpectedly Hard Bloc

Seconding the fact that it's nice to see when Louis can't flash EVERY climb. Cool to see the projecting, the falls, the strategy, trying hard, all of it!

I really enjoy watching Louis climb, but thats obviously entertaining but sometimes the quality of the editing really shines. The splicing of Louis' beta was great fun.

The Jeremy Clarkson "OH NOE, anyway" got me. Hilarious.
  • @knighteye33
You did so many new boulders in a single session, well done!! I'm also very impressed that Ink's fur is somehow now covered in chalk 😂
  • @mikehayden7691
It's nice to see Louis just try real hard. He makes too much look too easy too often. Excellent job!
  • @catnipsandwich
I can’t believe you didn’t let Ink lead the show again 😂
  • @michaelwalsh5423
My gym is much smaller, the thought of trying 15 new problems is crazy. Great session.

8:54 I'm looking forward to seeing Ink's inevitable transition from black cat to chalky white cat :)

Haha, that "YOU HAVEN'T BEEN COUNTING?" is the most Catalyst thing there is xd

I'm going to be honest. The first video I watched was the 🐈 climbing. I like climb videos but I love cats more, so I wanted to see him do his thing. I subscribed to see more cat climbs and have fallen in love with the good comedy, the cool climbs and the cat content. Have a great climb. Looking forward to more videos.

Actually nice to see talented climbers struggling. It’s like it makes it okay to struggle climbing at your limit. Most top climber videos only show the successes on harder climbs, which only demoralizes beginner climbers for failing. Thank you Louis! This is one of the most encouraging videos I’ve seen. You guys are not all superhuman but even the top climbers fall sometimes. Plus seeing you analyze what to change the next go was super helpful!
