Russell nice looking spruce logs .I was in the woods yesterday gathering up a few logs to saw no black flies yet but they will not be long.Keep up the great videos. Staying a little cooler down here on the eastern shore.

How's she goin'? Snigging logs with the winch is the way to go eh!! Too bad about snapping your cable. It was a good demo of why we shouldn't stand behind the winch though, in cast the cable breaks. It snapped back pretty good. Thanks for posting this video Russell. I enjoyed it!! Take care!!

Russell, I use 5/8" cable, be careful out there in the woods by yourself, where can I get one of those measuring tapes? Can't fine a supplier around HRM. Yours may go missing, blame it on Roland.

Disclaimer! I know nothing about logging,. So Russell, now I have to ask, why wouldn't you have used a snatch block to help move that spruce off your chainsaw? Would a snatch block be 'easier' on the cable? I enjoyed this, watching you load those logs onto your trailer, the camera position was interesting enough to make me duck a couple of times :)

Glad you didn't get hurt when you cable broke. Check out a D/d ratio chart for wire rope for fun sometime.

I cannot believe you didn't get your other chainsaw and cut the tree off the chainsaw.

I guess with the mill shed mostly enclosed even with the log deck open, it keeps the black flies out as they tend to not enter buildings.

I carry a snall snatch block on my winch for times like that,I've broken my cable trying to pull it through a choker to.
