Some time ago I found a headcanon about Regulus and Sirius screaming at each other in french in the corridors of Hogwarts, making sure everyone thinks they have fights while what they scream is actually words like "I'm sorry", "I miss you", "it's gonna be fine, I promise" - support, apologies and shared regrets that they don't want other people to recognize. It came to my mind now, while I was lisnening to 'you're somebody else' and I couldn't help crying...

Regulus is criminally underrated

I like to think Sirius was his hero growing up, hed always be there to protect him from anything but as they got older and he saw Sirius start to fight with their parents, he was scared. He should of hated his parents as he lay witness to all the unspeakable things they did to his big brother but the truth is he was just scared they'd hate him too. He was ashamed but the fear that his farther would one day look at him the way he looked at his oldest son always kept his mouth shut. Sirius grew to resent Regulus as he watched his little brother stand to the side and do nothing to protect him the way he had always protected Regulus or that's what Regulus had convinced him self of. He let shame consume him and in the end it was him that had drifted them apart.

Damn the lyrics of The Lament of Eustace Scrubb hit really hard. They fit Regulus so well. Especially the last two lines "When I touch the water, they tell me I could be set free". I'm like whaaaatttttt I got goosebumps

Their dynamic is one of the most interesting for me, even if they hated each other, pretended or lied about it, it is still heartbreaking that neither got a happy ending, as if they were doomed from the very start.

And now, Regulus was gone and Euphoria despised him with a passion.
