Fun fact: Fluttershy and PinkiePie used to be made patient zero a lot before people started getting sick of them almost always getting infected first. A lot of the mlp infection au creators responded by either sparing them or making them get infected later on.

"Antibiotics" 🙂 Antibiotics do not work on parasites. Antibiotics are a specific type of pharmaceutical that target bacteria. However, antiparasitic drugs, would work on a parasite. (Source: I am currently in college to get my associates in biology & bachelor's in microbiology.)

Waw!! I really like mlp (i should rewatch it), that remind me of this old time when i was reading mlp creepypastas... It's really cool!! But for now the parasite seems really light, the stories that my biologist friend tells about real parasites are way more terrifying. But still, can't wait to see the end of this story!

I can't wait to see what stage 3 looks like! Stage 2 is creepy, but creepy without too many physical changes which is REALLY impressive! It's easy to make zombies look creepy, but women who just have a rash? Not as easy!

I'm taking the latter idea of using the EG, but considering using either: The human 6's powers start to hurt them (a controlled personal sickness) Something involving Gloriossa Daisy Wallflower Blush and her memory loss stone Something involving The Dazzlings

While you were talking about immunity, I thought of something. It's not super smart or anything, but I think it correlates a bit with MLP lore. And that being that in the end, Twi is either immune/finds a cure. In the ending of the show, she's an alicorn, yadda yadda, lives longer (I think?), so her outliving her friends in an infection AU could be a way to honour that.

Science + storyline + art = masterpiece

This take is really intriguing. I’m interested to know how the parasite prevents the host cells from self-destructing (it’s a mechanism that allows the body to stop hitchhikers). Some interfere with the cell’s ability to self-destruct or if it’s really good at interfering with the immune system’s internal function (like stopping signals from being sent out, sending out indiscriminate chemical bombs in sensitive areas, etc). Or maybe the parasite is really really good at camouflaging. Regardless, interesting take! ❤
