Jeepers Creepers Movie Description:
On a desolate country highway, two homeward-bound teens (Gina Philips, Justin Long) are nearly run off the road by a maniac in a beat-up truck only to later spot him shoving what appears to be a body down a sewer pipe. But when they stop to investigate, they discover that the grisly reality at the bottom of that pipe is far worse than they could have ever suspected and that they are now the targets of an evil far more unspeakable, and unstoppable, than they could have ever imagined!
Jeepers Creepers is a 2001 horror film written and directed by Victor Salva. It stars Gina Philips and Justin Long as Trish and Darry Jenner, two siblings in college who are pursued by a violent truck driver portrayed by Jonathan Breck. The film takes its name from the 1938 song of the same name, which is featured in the film under a version by Paul Whiteman.[5] Patricia Belcher and Eileen Brennan also appear in supporting roles, with Salva making a cameo appearance.
Produced by American Zoetrope and the German companies Cinerenta-Cinebeta and Cinerenta Medienbeteiligungs KG, Jeepers Creepers began production in August 2000 after Salva convinced the studios to cast Philips and Long with the help of executive producer Francis Ford Coppola. Due to severe budget cuts, Salva rewrote the entire third act during production. Filming took place for two months in Florida in Ocala, Dunnellon, Reddick and Lake Panasoffkee. The film was theatrically released by United Artists and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer on August 31, 2001. It was a commercial success, despite mixed reviews, and grossed $59 million on a $10 million budget. The film also spawned a media franchise which includes two sequels and a reboot.

Fun fact. This movie is technically based on a true story. Only the beginning though. A long time ago a couple was driving and they saw a man dumping what looked like dead bodies down a pipe. The man saw them looking and tried to run them off the road. That’s all I really remember about the story.

The sequel freaked me out even more. Had to drive home late in the night from seeing it a friend's house, looking up at the sky the entire drive home.

It's a very small detail but if you look at the very opening scene Trish is holding a pair of glasses. She puts them down & never wears them when everything starts happening but it's an explanation for why The Creeper picked Darry over her because his eyes have better vision.

The Creeper seeming very human like was part of the "creep" factor. It added to it. Think about it. This thing can move around (feet, car, etc) by day, and as long a he's not too close, you wouldn't realize he was some sort of creature or demon or whatever. He drives a truck for God-sake. Roanoke Tales does a breakdown where he posits that "the creeper" was a human that was taken over by a parasite long ago.

This is one of the most terrifying creature feature films to me. This came out when I was 10 and it legit had me terrified in the daytime. The music, creeper, the ending The first one is the BEST ONE!! The sequel is pretty fun too
