The only thing that attracts me to the Roland over the EWI, is the midi over Bluetooth. Opens up some very cool possibilities, if I was able to trigger soundbanks stored on a cell phone or tablet. Other than that, it seems to be an inferior instrument to the EWI, although it probably has a less steep learning curve. I've had Yamaha WX5,7 & 10, as well as an EWI 3000 and 5000 (for only a week). My favorite is my EWI 4000.

I like the EWI's electronic sounds better than the Roland's, but I think the Roland mimics actual sounds better.

the sax sounds of the Akai are better, but Roland Ae 10 has had some updates in the meantime and the new sax sounds are much better!
