It works! The Big 3D Printer MkII is finished and it works beautifully. I made a first test print of a 66mm combination wrench, 800mm in length with absolutely no warping!! It shows a few holes in the top because it has too little infill but hey! it is the first print!! It took only 6 hours but I'm sure that this thing can go way faster.

The post with the files can be found here:

During the recording of this video there has been maintenance work performed on the shop hence the very little speaking and the frequent change of background, lot's of noise and dust.

All the components were sent to me for free with no compromise, I'll list them down below because I really liked them.

The Duet2 was a pleasure to work with, easy to use well documented and extremely robust. Duet3D has released the next version and you can find both here:
www.duet3d.com/

The Hemera extruder is an insane piece of equipment, I managed to snap the filament with it trying to make it lose a step. You can find it here:

The profiles were sent to my by a friend of mine, I love them and you can find them here:

I printed every single part of the printer with the PulseXE with not a single failed print, I will probably use it to reprint all the parts with NylonX soon. You can find it here:

I wasn't sure why anyone would need a printer this big, but then I realized it's needed to print parts for an even bigger printer.

Who ever sells you red filament is a very happy person.
  • @npatony
man if you sold this i would so buy one. seriously, there is nothing for a reasonable price at this size on the market, even if you sold it as a kit with instructions

I really appreciated watching how you solved the cabling challenge and ended up with a really neat result. Thanks!
  • @StevenCregan
My thoughts in tandem with watching: 1. LOOK AT THIS ABSOLUTE UNIT 2. That's a really neat way of supporting the cables/filament guide 3. That poor mirror 😱 4. Absolute. Unit. 5. It printed that in HOW long?! 6. ...I want one...

Congratulations on the build! As a hobbyist 3D printer enthusiast and DIYer, I'm totally in love with this and I can not wait to see more of it!
  • This is a great build, Ivan! I have my own giant printer build in my garage (600x900mm) that is based off of the MPCNC platform. Decided to give up on the self leveling bed aspect (BL Touch sensor) after fighting Marlin for 2 months and will try out your leveling feet instead for the bed now. Thanks for the inspiration.
  • Enhorabuena Ivan.

Imagine the giant Lego we could print 😬
  • As a CR-10S5 owner, I'm in awe of the sheer size of this lad, absolute unit.

Nice build. The wire and ptfe tube management on the carriage is very inventive. I might have to borrow that design for myself. Thanks for the video.
  • That's Totally Swinging. I'm going to have me one of the big ones. Thank you so much for all the hard work.

Ivan, you are an awesome builder. This thing is amazing. Huge print in just 6 hours! I wish you all the spacers man!
  • @Lord_Godd
I was going to print a Santa for the family, but I can’t find red filament anywhere....

I bought the package and I am preparing for the build. The BoM has a few things I'm not sure what they are. But this is totally awesome and thank you for doing it and making it available to everyone.
