I'm American and have lived in Taiwan for 12 years now and, I must say, it is a truly special place. The people are so genuinely kind and caring and there is such a true spirit of what they call 公德心 or civic morality here. What many may not realize is Taiwan really does have a thriving democracy (complete with a referendum process and high turnout) where the government genuinely works for the people. I can't express how tragic it would be for the Taiwanese to lose what they have here and fall to an autocracy.
  • I love Taiwanese people so much "Small Island, but we're proud of it" Gotta love a group of patriots like that.
  • My admiration to Taiwan. I was there once when not smart phones were available. People always help me when I asked for orientation. They were always very kind

Taiwan is also one of the friendliest place on Earth. Everyone who visited always talk about how friendly and kind everyone is living here. It's a truly civil society in the most sincere sense of the word. Yet due to China, they have no UN seat and no direct diplomatic relations with almost no country on Earth. Everyone has turned their backs on Taiwan, and yet they became almost a model nation with strong, forward looking economy, progressive social trends (first Asian nation to legalize same sex marriage), best medical system in the world, wonder people, and the legendary food scene that is famous in Asia. This is one of the most special places in the world.

I LOVE Taiwan and their people. I really really hope we don’t let what happened to Hong Kong happen to them.
  • I was impressed by that man who said I will die.. while he was smiling with calmness, confidence, and courage. This is a matter of human nature, regardless of political ground. I am Chinese but I disagree if our country invadesTaiwan. I prefer to see mainland China and Taiwan exist in peace way. No war anyway.

I'm from Taiwan, and we welcome support from all across the world. It's not about fighting for Taiwanese independence anymore, it's about preserving our way of life. Good evening, we are from Taiwan!

Taiwan is also called Formosa, the name reflects her reality in life. People are friendly and lovely. They pursue happiness and peace. Enjoy prosperity by hard working and inventive ideas. People around the world should respect and maintain the choice of their way of living !!
