Back in the day, the competition should have been between the Sega Genesis, the Super Nintendo, and the Turbo Graphx 16. Like the P.S. Vita today, the Turbo Graphx 16 was a GREAT system. But, they stopped selling and making them before it could get off the ground. The Turbo Graphx 16 was like a Sega Genesis that didn't make it.

Just a word of warning: I'd use the exact spec the manual recommends for power, because it's really easy to fry these things, as in the usb controller ports will stop working. 5V 2amps.
