Lyrics:

My sisters and I
Have one wish before we die
And it may sound strange
As if our minds are deranged
Please don't ask us why
Beneath the sheltering sky
We have this strange obsession
You have the means in your possession

Tea in the Sahara with you
Tea in the Sahara with you

The young man agreed
He would satisfy their need
So they danced for his pleasure
With a joy you could not measure
They would wait for him here
The same place every year
Beneath the sheltering sky
Across the desert he would fly

Tea in the Sahara with you
Tea in the Sahara with you
Tea in the Sahara with you
Tea in the Sahara with you

The sky turned to black
Would he ever come back?
They would climb a high dune
They would pray to the moon
But he'd never return
So the sisters would burn
As their eyes searched the land
With their cups full of sand

Tea in the Sahara with you
Tea in the Sahara with you
Tea in the Sahara with you
Tea in the Sahara with you

Fantastic quality!!! Please let there be a BluRay next year with the full Atlanta and Montreal shows from this tour, without any of the special effects from the old edit...
  • The Synchronicity Tour... Hard to believe it was 40+ Years ago. 40 years back from 1983, the Landing at Normandy was still a year away. Let that sink in. The Police really should do 1 last Tour. 🙏🏻🎼🎼🎶🎵🎸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇨🇦

Maybe the best Police video I’ve ever seen. Certainly one of the best on Stewart Copeland.
  • Best version Tea in the Sahara , Best band in the World . From Lima Peru

I hadn’t heard this in over 35 years, straight into, all word came back immediately. I still got it.

one of the coolest song ever. The Copeland panning was incredible,

My favorite Band, since High School in 80 th.
  • With camera work by Mrs. Robinson’s 3rd graders out on a field trip. Doesn’t diminish the power of this performance. Stewart has the speed of a hummingbird with his precise strikes along with the ‘air’ or space in his kit work. Kudos to whomever taught him his technique. Sting’s grunts, canine sounds, all quite remarkable, all adding to the ambiance and haunting nature of this song. The key shift when the main verse vocal begins sets the listener on edge and adds to the strange atmosphere. Andy Summers effects pedals and carefully placed harmonic accents show his art rock origins. Remarkable to consider arena audiences had the attention span to absorb such a performance. When I was a young kid listening to the cassette of ‘Syncroniticy’ it was tracks like this that drew me into the Police and served as an entryway to the jazz oriented rock that I love to the current time.

So many great bands and hits from that era. But The Police stood out from the rest. Their music to me sounded so much more skilled and sophisticated than everything else on the airwaves. They were originals. Still my favorite band.
  • @stingako
wow.. The Police are right here..
  • Love this. I see only the middle two drum heads of Stewart's message to Sting are left :-)
