I like to imagine Knuckles' entire life is "& Knuckles." Like he's trapped in this unending chain of whacky situations where he's forced to just go along with other people's shenanigans. And he always seems to have exactly enough agency where he feels obligated to TRY and influence things, but the impact he actually has never extends past "and Knuckles was there also."

Fun fact: Apparently bees can decide "You know what, I don't want to die today" and will move around to unsting you, resulting in it basically being you just getting poked by a needle and actually not getting the typical bee sting inflammation. Charmy is chaotic evil for not doing that.
