The way Jeff rowed the boat kind of made me worried. It does look like it is exhausting just using the arms with one hand on each paddle in a foreword motion. Consider sitting backwards on the boat so that you can distribute the weight of the paddles throughout the body in a somewhat pulling motion. I can't really explain it well, but I think there are tutorials. I love you guys, and I hope this will help!

Jeff, you gotta blow on the ember 'before' you put it on the kindling to keep it alive and even as you put it on, you do slowly all the while blowing on it gently until it catches. That's the secret to starting a fire with a bow drill. It also helps if you put a little sand in the grooves to make sure you get friction.
