You can find blue rays and CDs of this whole movie for cheap, less than 20-30$. I highly encourage you to buy it. (you can obviously find it for free on the internet, but streaming sites really make the pictures ugly due to compression, lower quality, and being copy/pasted from other websites)
Seriously. If you have a blue ray reader, give it a go.
If you still want to see it but can't find it nor buy it, send a comment. Who knows, maybe I uploaded it somewhere private and I can share it with you without triggering all copyrights and getting flagged. Again.

Sadly this movie did not sell very well, it lacked advertisement and was hidden behind other large titles.

This version has a bit more images over the previous one, and was made from the blue ray I ripped. And I re-edited it from scratch without using anything of the older video I posted, which for unknown youtube algorithm reasons, had over 400k views. (it is now unlisted as this edit is superior).

Every single frame of this film was DRAWN BY HAND. EVERY. SINGLE. FRAME.

Honestly the thing I like about this movie is that when these vehicles reach a certain speed it looks like they're about to fall apart or just explode. That's how hard they're pushing these things. And the sheer amount of G Force the drivers are feeling.

I love how tiny the Trans-AM is compared to its competitors. It's like Anakin's pod-racer going up against rivals with engines bigger than its entire frame.

“You’re just a voice pal. You don’t know a thing about racing!” -What you say to the haters out there

This is one of the best opening scenes to just about any movie ever.

Shortly after my dad died, I watched this movie every single day for 2 weeks. I can no longer watch it without crying, but that is not going to stop me from watching it. Redline is a safe and sacred place for me, I want to learn Japanese so I can meet the director and thank him in his native language

I just love that extra little tidbit that JP doesn't end up 2nd, the other cars are so insanely quick and so closeby that in the short timeframe of him losing control, Sonoshee winning and him going over the finishing line, the rest of the field goes through and he's like 5th or 6th... It really sells you on the idea that these cars are no joke and that they are insanely fast.

Still love how the classic captain is a "Fuck You" to aerodynamics and just has power for to bash its way through the air

This edit makes for a great teaser/extended trailer because of the omitted Frisbee scenes. It is mostly spoiler free. It also makes it essentially rated PG and I can share it in my classroom to animation students. Bravo! It must have been fun to edit.

The thing about this movie is its sheer sense of speed, and that's encapsulated by the way that in every single racing frame, the entire screen is moving. Look at it again, I swear, there is not a single stagnant moment. It builds and maintains momentum like no other film I've ever seen.

i love how the creators of this movie nailed the sense of speed. Your edit only makes the race more enjoyable while leaving little of the intrigue behind. well done!

one of the few times eng dub actually makes an anime better
  • @Fu3R4
Based off having 50 kilometers left in the race with about 7 minuets left in the video they are racing at about 428.6kmph (266.3mph)

Love the original with the extra scenes in the context of the movie. But when I just want to relive the pure adrenaline of this scene, your edit is PERFECT!
  • This movie is basically Hotwheels & Speed Racer meets Fast and the Furious. It’s awesome.
  • @NERV527
Man after years of watching this movie, it still holds up really good today in its own way IMO. Sad it's still not known from more people.
  • You can just see and feel how much passion was put into this movie.
  • This feels like an anime version of the feeling you get at the drag races seated at the point where the engines peak. Did that when I was a kid with my dad and I get the same kind of rush. You don't really care who wins, you just enjoy the sheer raw power of machines whose noise alone can shake your bones.
