Surely one of the coolest cars I've uploaded to the channel, if not the coolest. This Challenger, driven by Beat Gubler, kept surprising me in both speed and soundtrack during the 5 days I got to watch it race. At both events, Jack's Racing Day and the Tabac Classic GP Assen, the car competed at the top of the Colmore YTCC series.

The insane amount of power this naturally aspirated, massive big block 572ci 9.4L makes, more than compensates for the weight of a '70s American muscle car. The event commentator claimed it was running up to 1000 horsepower and after some digging into built N/A 572 Mopar engines I concluded that that claim is definitely possible.

Edit: Thanks to a comment by Beat himself I now have a bit more info on the specs. The 572ci/ 9.4L aliminium block with Indy Cylinder Heads produces 720HP and is linked to a 4-speed Jasper NASCAR transmission. It weighs 1450kg.

Enjoy this compilation of clips I filmed and edited with a massive smile on my face!

American cars built to go around a track and not a straight line are something to behold, I wish there were more like this
  • Finally!!!! Someone built and races a T/A Challenger as it was intended to be!!! And yes I know they ran a 340 in street cars that was destroked for racing...

That 1970 Dodge Challenger look much better than the latest ones.

Seeing this thing spit flames as it approaches in your rear view must be the stuff of nightmares

a V8 is never too big, from the moment it fits in the car

I believe this actually my first time seeing a classic muscle car that people usually drag race... ACTUALLY race and take corners really well.
  • @benmclean2291
Wow that thing hauls, the cornering speed is unreal as well. I thought he was going to miss the apex so many times in that short clip. 👍👍

Thats has to be the best sounding dodge challenger I’ve ever heard.

These cars are beautiful standing still… it’s epic to see them in motion tearing it up👍🏼👍🏼

Fantastic and refreshing video! The car and driver are amazing. I also appreciate how your video gets straight to the point - no dramatic cinematic opening, no music aside from the big V8. Your camera angles, panning, and zooming were perfect to sense the speed and see the car relative to turns and the competition. Thanks!

I miss sitting at an intersection with the ground shaking from the V8 horsepower.
  • I’m not a mopar fan because of todays generation of dodge products and their drivers, but I have respect for this one, it handles those corners amazingly

When I saw the thumbnail I legit thought it was some Gran Turismo build. Damn, what a thing of absolute beauty. Thanks for the video. This is the kind of content I love.

Taking corners like a 911. Talk about being Trakt...Would love to see the suspension and brake setup.
