New York City is known for being a pizza town. If you ask 100 different people what their favorite pizza shop is in NYC you may get 100 different answers! Many big names are common answers, such as John's of Bleecker Street, Joe's Pizza, Lucali, and L'industrie Pizzeria just to name a few. But what if I told you this one place NY Pizza Suprema is the most underrated pizza in NYC? And it is also smack dab in one of the most touristy locations in the Big Apple!

NY Pizza Suprema is located right by Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, and a mere 5 minute walk from the Empire State Building. It is smack dab in the tourist and corporate hub known as Midtown, Manhattan. However, despite this touristy destination many swear by NY Pizza Suprema! And not just tourists, scores of locals! There is even an association between Anthony Bourdain and NY Pizza Suprema. A famous pizza blogger was known for his love of NY Pizza Suprema. The blogger who ate a cheese slice from every pizzeria in Manhattan, Colin Hagendorf and NY Pizza Suprema go hand in hand in foodie circles! The other slices may be mid but at least the cheese slice seems great!

We will try it and see if it lives up to the hype!

  • This guy complains about the floppiness of the pepperoni pizza compared to the cheese pizza - but totally forgets that he showed us how floppy the cheese pizza was. 😂

I would laugh at anyone who told me to only put 1 topping or else be called a tourist. They can pound sand while i enjoy what i want/pay for. 😂 too funny.

That pizza got cold by the time you were finished, reviews should not be based on cold pizza
  • I love this channel, never miss a video but I do have to say, you dragged this one out soooooo much.

$45 for a pie? $7 for a slice? What a craphouse New York has become.
  • @soulglo45
Those prices are WILD, they can keep it

First, these pizza prices are STUPID, even in Manhattan, even in 2024. Second, there is NO golden rule of "just one topping" in NYC. That's ridiculous. Sausage and pepper? Meatballs and onions? UA, you heard of these? They're delicious, and New Yorkers love them!

Passed by this place several times and never thought about going in. Good looking slices
  • @dirtynewyorker
There’s no unspoken one topping rule in New York, the hell you talkin bout

I worked across the street for many years, this was a frequent lunch spot for me. Always delicious regular slices, a true classic. 🍕💪

Wouldn’t necessarily call that area “touristy”. Penn Station brings in a million people each week who work in the city, just like you, UA (Jersey). Unless you consider yourself a tourist, which in many aspects I can see that as truth. Anyways, you hit the nail on the head of NY Suprema Pizza. I’ve been eating there for several decades and it tastes exactly the same. Way before Bourdain christened it his favorite, it was always a very solid slice. As a few of my other favorites like Ray’s on Prince Street have shut down permanently, NY Suprema has moved up the ranks to my #1 in Manhattan which is saying something. NYC pizza slices used to follow the cost of an MTA subway ride. I can remember $1 slices which was the norm for well over a decade. Not those trash $1 slices either, those thankfully didn’t exist. Miss those days but that’s life.

People complaining about cheese “grease” would be the same to me as like people complaining about a ribeye having too much fat… like… they are fatty, what do you expect?
  • Was there over 20 years ago when I went to garden for WWF summer slam with my kids. I remember pizza was good at the time. Living in New York have many favorites. But seeing video brought back memories will give it a try once again the regular due to your recommendation Thanks UA

I might try it once out of curiosity, but won't pay $4.50 more than once for a slice when I know a few really good pizzerias that charge $2.15, $2.50, or $3.00.
