I believe it was the spring of 1983 as I remember Minoru Mukaiya talking about the Photograph album having just been released. My band mates and I went to see them playing at the Yamaha Centre then located in Nakanoshima, Sapporo, Japan. As we were hanging around the centre, looking at keyboards and other instruments on display, the members of Casiopea found us and began talking to us in a very friendly way - just before the concert. They were in their 20s and we were 14 years old. I remember bugger-all of what we talked about. But we had our jackets autographed by the Casiopea members. Of course, being ordinary school boys, we did not speak English back then. And little did we know then that this band would later become so well-known in many parts of the world! Here I am living in an English-speaking country, reading all these comments, many of which coming from countries other than Japan, makes me so happy! It’s been 40 years since I saw them. But I can still listen to and ‘see’ them on Youtube. Not only that I can even leave comments that I know someone somewhere in the world might get to read. Thanks, internet. Thanks, Youtube. And thanks, Casiopea.
  • this concert changed my life, not only as a musician but also as a human being. Thanks Casiopea, for existing.

I love how Londoners have been so welcoming and open hearted to Japanese musicians for all these decades. From Casiopea to Perfume, all genres and all great music performers and entertainers. What a great opener to use Asayake! Usually used as a closer or encore song, it's an uplifting song to use open with to get the audience energized. Bravo!

For me , Casiopea is second to none at Fusion Jazz around 80's . they have brought up jazz to next level , with additional much more joyfull and happiness to Jazz music. But definitely their music is much ahead of time. timeless !

Entering this concert out of spite and not knowing the artists just to get out afterwards and realize you listened to a musical masterpiece in person must be a UNIQUE feeling

What I love apart from the amazing music, is how clearly they are enjoying playing. No trying to look cool or hip, mean or moody - just sheer musical pleasure for them and the audience.

I love so much Casiopea, because my dad always playing their song in casette when i'm childhood. What a fantastic live-legendary Japanese fusion jazz rock band from Japan, Casiopea. This flamboyant fusion band maybe are very old but they're so consistent, everlasting and forever in our heart who loved fusion jazz rock genres. 😍😍❤❤

I was at one of the concerts in London in 1983. I have been listening to Casiopea for a few months before I saw them... I have never heard a tighter 4piece band ever. Watching them was an incredible experience, and such gifted musicians seems to just play, enjoying themselves.... What Joy!!!!!

An underrated performance by many fans, Spice Road shines as one of the very best songs ever!
