Time for another classic CoD challenge: taking on Call of Duty: World at War on Veteran - a game notorious for its difficulty and grenade spam, and the one game since CoD4 I never played. As such this'll be my completely blind first WaW playthrough, let's see how tough it really is in current year. Let the rage commence... or, maybe it won't be as tough as everyone says. I'm excited to conquer WaW and see what the story's about, to finally fill in the gap in my Call of Duty history. This is part 1 of 2.

Part 2:    • Getting Even More Destroyed by the Co...

You were killed by a grenade. Watch out for the grenade danger indicator.

I love WaW for the fact that the enemy factions play differently. The Japanese use more guerilla tactics like hiding in the grass and trees. The Germans play more like your standard cod enemy.

DidYouKnowGaming: did you know, the German Reich had 100 billion grenades in the battle of Berlin.

The Older Treyarch Campaigns are pretty notorious for having infinitely respawning enemies. If you ever get to a point where it feels like they keep coming you probably need to push up to prevent them from respawning.

Jesus. The music in this game is straight up *haunting*.

I appreciate the fact that you actually took the time to listen to the intro cutscene and stuff and not just give generic commentary that you can barely hear over the sound of the skip button being mashed at breakneck speeds

veteran on Blowtorch & Corkscrew ruined a whole week of my middle school life
  • Allies: We have almost immediate celular regeneration. Axis: And we have an infinite supply of grenades. What say you we have some fun, ja?

I beat this game on veteran back when I must’ve been 12 or 13. And it has left me with grenade indicator related trauma Ever since WaW, every single cod on veteran has been a breeze

This was one of the first games to incorporate Sony's brand new trophy system and I was absolutely determined go plat every game I played. That dream lasted less than a week and died with this stupid campaign. F

I miss how much effort and passion were put into these cutscenes. Sure, effort and passion is still put into the newer ones, but these older games had such a charm to them.
