Once Upon a December A Complete Hailstorm & Pyrite MAP

Hailstorm got a taste of what it was like to live a happy life that wasn't overruled by the desire to be respected. As Pyrite, he had a carefree time to just be happy, not worried about a perfect status for anyone watching. He got to experience the gift of not being an IceWing. And now that he's back in his original life with his old memories, he has no choice but to leave that happy carefree life behind, and serve his duties as an IceWing inside his life-draining tribe. You never know how bad you have it until you experience the better life for yourself. May the IceWings let go of their pride and allow themselves to live happier lives by end of The Dangerous Gift. That is my wish for them.

I love that there’s a male and female version, so then we get Hailstorm and Pyrite singing about the things they missed. Honestly, Hailstorm has a pretty sad life. He doesn’t know what he wants anymore or who he is, he doesn’t know if he wants to stay as an ice wing anymore and can never really be happy, as now he’s questioning himself with every decision he makes. Poor guy. But great map! Everyone did great and this might be one of my fav maps now!

I kinda feel bad for Hailstorm. He didn’t WANT to be Hailstorm anymore after he took off the necklace. Winter kinda just forced him into it. Hailstorm liked his life as Pyrite.

This turned out absolutely STUNNING, the intro and epilouge makes it feel like a genuine movie. All of the partcipants had such gorgeous parts, I'm so proud to have been apart of this and to have gotten to work with you all! <3

I’m totally not singing once upon a December over and over

Okay but imagine you grow up being loved and looked after by the leader of your whole nation, given a necklace to symbolize the fact she looks after you like her own daughter. You have friends, you know you are loved and couldn't be more happy with your life. But your queen asks you to help save her after she is dethroned in a traitorous coup. To help her through this, you attack an enemy, who takes off your necklace that She gave you, and you remember. You remember that you aren't from that nation. You aren't her *Son*, in any way. Those happy memories are all false ones, and the one who took that necklace off of you is someone you know. You know him. You care about him. You don't want to remember the past childhood, true childhood, where you were almost always alone and grew up with few friends. But remembering the fake memories also hurts, because the Queen that did this to you was never your friend. She turned you against your own nation and family. (So then why does staying where you really grew up hurt so much. It's not like you can go back. The necklaces magic- you shouldn't even want to go back. Why was being in the arms of the enemy better than your home?)

This is incredible! Really portrayed the inner battle Hailstorm went through. Stunning work, animators!

All of the animators did a wonderful job, the end product is stunning. Everything about this MAP is just gorgeous, from the sets to the concept to the animation. The thumbnail was so fun to create and I’m honored to have had mine chosen aaaa <333

Why do I feel like this is actually what Hailstorm and Pyrite sound like

The beginning is creative! When the necklace goes around Hailstorms neck it turns him into Pyrite, but in Pyrites memory’s Scarlet gave it to her as a gift, and that Scarlet told her to never take it of. Pyrite is supposed to be loyal to Scarlet so she doesn’t want to disobey her. The map is splendid! I enjoyed watching it, and I think the song matches the topic well! All the animators did a wonderful job! Also why don’t I refer Scarlet as Queen Scarlet? (Evil queens don’t deserve to be called queens) Wish you all well :D
