I remember watching a rerun of this on tv with my mom probably 10+ years ago when I was kid. I remember laughing so hard then and now. One of the best. I hope she does standup again someday.

    19 years later…..still hysterically funny

Decades ago she said that someday Sitcoms will be 30 second long...now we have Tiktok, Shorts and Reel
  • @mexicanboy1618
She was close "I believe one day sitcoms will be 30 seconds long" Cough cough Vines cough cough
  • Her humor is about things we have all experienced. Maybe we didn't laugh then, but she has us laughing now, and that is wonderful. Sometimes I enjoy raunchy humor, but her lack of vulgarity is so refreshing.

What a brilliantly written and performed stand up. I have watched it umpteenth time and it still makes me laugh. Irrespective of all the flak Ellen has got over the last year, she is one of the funniest person alive. Love from India.
  • I enjoy most stand up comedians that are popular today, but it shows real talent when your show isn't centered around how vulgar you can be.

Love how she goes from topic to topic. It’s really fascinating the way her mind works….
  • The bangs!!! Toilet paper claw, pickle claw!! Both jokes still go through my mind all these years later and I still crack up to myself

Non-offensive jokes can be funny too! This is the proof!
  • My family has been quoting this for 20 years and it still makes me laugh so hard every time I watch it

37:21 always gets me “My dog of 17 years just died” “You’re kidding!” “No...as funny as that is I’m not...” 😂

How bout that? No cursing. No racism. She did not once put someone else down and it was still funny. It's a real shame that cannot happen today.
  • She is the female Seinfeld! Mixed in with a little Mark Twain. Brilliant observational comedy and genius how she pulled it all together into a full circle at the end. No vulgarity, no swearing, no sex talk, no bad-mouthing or ridiculing any group, no bantering with the audience to kill time. Solid writing and incredible memorization skills that made it look like she was just having a conversation with you. She should do more of these, especially since her show is off the air now.
  • Damn, I had no idea Ellen was this funny in stand up. Not only funny for the whole family, but also funny for anyone sitting on their phone at 1 in the morning...
