  • ''Louis made these five errors: he destroyed the minor powers, he increased the strength of one of the greater powers in Italy, he brought in a foreign power, he did not settle in the country, he did not send colonies.''- Niccolo Machiavelli quote from The Prince
  • It's incredible how the Spanish empire could go on for so long being at (almost) constant wars against the moors, France, the Ottomans, England, the protestants, in America, in Asia (Philippines)...and sometimes at the same time.
  • @ImperatorHispania
Thanks for making a video about the battle of St. Quentin, one of my ancestors, Carlos Fernández y Bellido, fought in this fight as a sergeant of the Tercios
  • @mikemodugno5879
This was a great series. While discussing this era, I would love to see you guys show the Spanish conquest of the Americas in a series of its own. People always focus on the fall of the Aztecs and Incas, but I would love to see you guys cover the wider picture.
  • @JohnnyElRed
I'm suprised by how many common and still widely used Spanish proverbs did these wars give birth to. In this case: "Se ha armado la de San Quintín". Which is a way of saying: "All hell broke loose".
  • @vectorstrike
The Italian Wars took a heavy toll on Charles' health. Dude just wanted to crusade against the Ottomans
  • @Moon-li9ki
caesar, augustus and other emperors would be rolling in their graves if they saw the absolute state of italy in medieval and modern times
  • @somedude1502
Double dose of Italian history back to back, yes please.
  • @TheAstran1
Still to this day we have a saying in Spain, "se armó la de San Quintín", which references what happened at St. Quentin and is used to describe a big fight or victory.

  • @takolink3350
Love all the work you guys put into this. If you can do more Canadian and French battles, then I would be happy.
  • @dostawcagazu
With the Italian Wars now being almost entirely done, I'm really hopefull that one day you will make a video about other major or minor conflicts in Italy, like the War of the Sicillian Vespers.
  • @Alounas
I have been waiting for this video for a very long time
  • @kristian2497
Awesome conclusion to the series! 😄 Will you be covering the French wars of religion next? 😁
  • @-RONNIE
Thanks for another good video it was really informative I didn't know some of the information but now I do
  • @LoneWanderer727
The Habsburgs really got the better of the French & Italians in this war. I'm certain the French/Italians will not remember this and come back swinging at any point in the future. The Spanish Habsurg Empire will rule for a thousand years!
